the location in the castle and the view from there is wonderful.

The only thing that would have been better would be if I had known about the elevator from town that takes you up to the castle and hotel. I arrived via train and walked to the hotel. And, not knowing about the elevator, the walk up the hill with my bags was quite a workout!

This was the best stay of our vacation! This hotel is a MUST to stay at. I am a retired hotelier and it was so nice. The restaurant was outstanding! The rooms are clean and the bathroom was well equipped with a nice shower. It was so nice to be near the castle: we had a room that looked into the castle courtyard. After a day in the city of Thun, it was a lovely escape to the top. The views from the top is unbelievable!! Yannick is a delightful Director of the a hotel and restaurant. All of the staff is amazing and warm and kind!

Beautifully located, incredibly comfortable rooms (great beds!), good breakfast. Convenient parking in Schlossberg public parking.

Some of the personnel were very warm, welcoming and helpful. Others were more distant, normative, and critical. We were somewhat unlucky to found several of Thun’s better restaurants closed on Sunday and Monday. Our restaurant experience in Thun was therefore less positive then it might have been if we would have visited on other days. We ended up going to Interlaken for our second evening (El Azteca—highly recommended!).

Breatfast was fairly simple, but they did cook the eggs on demand which was nice. The coffee machine in the room made really good coffee. Location was great as well since you're right next to the castle museum and the kids can come in/out themselves. Our lighting had issues but it wasn't a big deal since we were there only for 1 night. They stored our luggage after we checked out so we can go explore old town. That was very helpful as well.

The bathroom could be more updated (especially the shower stall) and the bed was too soft for my liking.

It is a beautiful well kept property with a lot of history. They serve an amazing breakfast and all staff are very nice.

There was no air condition. We put it on but it would never cold the room. Switzerland was experiencing a heat wave and I could not sleep well at night. Would open windows but they don’t open all the way. No fan was provided.

The hotel is located at the top of the hill in Thun and the views are breathtaking. Despite the age of the (old castle) hotel, there are many technological updates (e.g, you just wave your hand in front of a screen in order to open the doors throughout the hotel) so that you do not feel like you are in an ancient building. We spent two nights in the tower room which was truly magical. Breakfast was also wonderful and included fresh jams and pastries, fruit, cheese/ham and eggs.

We loved the property but prefer to have a top sheet with the bedding.

Location location location!! Stunning views and easy to go to Old Town which is beautiful with the old bridges views of the lake and nice terraces To find the hotel was not easy. Even in the parking no signs of hotel. We had to ask several people and finally someone explained you have to take 2 elevators. Could do with improvements !!

Directions to hotels should be addressed. Not easy to find or at least advice re directions when booking

the unique location adjacent to the superb thun castle is like a fairy tale, we had a panorama room with superb views. the room was big and modern. the staff is friendly. the castle itself not worth a visit. there is a big good public parking but you need to carry the luggage for 20m. the price is very fair for what you get. it is worth to come to thun for this hotel. very recommended

Exceptional place to stay in Thun. A bit expensive but arguably worth the money compare with other places nearby and the fact that it’s Switzerland. The view from the main suite on the top floor was exceptional. Staff were incredible and the breakfast made to order was lovely. Facilities in room were second to none, including providing a sachet of bath salts for the bath! Note you must park in the car park before taking the elevator to the Schloss Hotel.

Everything! It was very quiet during the night, even with the window open! We enjoyed an atmospheric and great breakfast in the courtyard! If you want a special castle-experience with views up-close, this is definitely the place to spend a day or two. And if you need a few relaxing moments in the spa you can reserve in advance at the front desk. No additional charge. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend!
