Dushanbe Serena Hotel

Staff are really nice and friendly, the rooms are clean and attractive, beds and pillows are comfortable and the roof top pool is wonderful when the weather is hot. The breakfast is nice too, with tasty fresh pastries. The hotel is also very well situated. The air conditioning and internet were pretty good for Tajikistan, and all the staff seem to speak good English which is quite unusual. I ended up staying here on 3 separate legs of my journey, and I enjoyed each stay very much. It's on the main road but not too noisy and there is a nice garden too.

I went for a 4 day hike in the fann mountains and my muscles were a bit sore when I came back. I was hoping for a hot bath so I could soak them, but the water in all the rooms is kept tepid (42 degrees). We did ask if it could be made hotter, but it seems there's one supply for all the rooms so it wasn't possible. The only other thing is that the hotel taxi to the airport is very over priced compared to the local taxis (150 somoni vs 20 somoni). And there restaurant lunch is also extremely expensive and I would say not worth it.

Rudaki Avenue is where most of the magic happens in Dushanbe, which I didn't appreciate before I stayed here, so it was a great comfort to have the hotel in this location. The bed was great for my needs, as I prefer firm mattresses! The breakfast and dinner buffet were exceptional, as was the coffee in the bar. The self-contained nature of the hotel was also good, i.e, having a cash exchange office on site was really handy. The best part of it however, was the staff. Medina, et al, who looked after me and conversed with me throughout, and took care of my repeated requests for taxis, information re shops, etc, at short notice, were so helpful, courteous and kind. I took the opportunity to speak with the head of catering and services to give him verbal feedback too. All in all, it was a pleasure to stay here.

My only piece of feedback would be on meals - it would be great to have traditional Tajik food in both the breakfast and dinner buffets. Whilst many of the hotel's clientele understandably, probably like to have breakfasts and meals to remind them of home, I think that incorporating more traditional Tajik food and drink into the menus would provide for a more immersive experience, if there is scope to do so.

Not suitable or acceptable for a hotel where the rest is beautiful and clean We couldn't use the pool area after we asked for it to be cleaned. Because after checking out, guests can't use the facilities of the hotel (gym, pool) That was bad service since we were the ones making them clean the pool area and couldn't use it when it was dirty.

The hotel was conveniently located for Samani Monument and the archaeological museum, which was really worth a visit. There were some restaurants/cafes across Rudaki Avenue from the hotel. To our surprise, pizzas were quite popular here. The hotel, though a little bit old, was tastefully decorated and well maintained. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was really good and delicious. There was a bank inside the hotel and really convenient for currency exchange.

The rooms needs some refreshment and the bathroom renovation . The door is not well isolated and you can hear all noise from the corridor . Air-conditioner is loud .

The staff were very helpful, breakfast was great with lots of vegetarian options, and location was about a 15min drive to the airport and walking distance to many of the tourist attractions. There were great walking paths and small convenience stores close by, too. Within the hotel, there is a great souvenir shop with many local offerings from rugs, to tea sets, to shot glasses! There is also a money exchange located in the corridor of the hotel.

I thought the room rate was a bit expensive, but when I saw what other options were available upon walking through the area, it was worth it.

I booked a room for my mom. It's been her second stay at 'Serena Dushanbe' since last year. We visited her there, of course. A great hotel, a spacious and cosy room, a wonderful staff and amazing location. Hope to be able to book a room next year.

Nice breakfast spread and coffee, well stocked and spacious bathroom with good water pressure, big clean and comfy beds. Good sized rooms with a functional desk. Minibar is stocked with water and small bottles of soft drinks that are complimentary. Staff are courteous and attentive. Top floor swimming pool was just OK (dusty). Happy to recommend and would stay again. Fairly central location as well.

Location, Friendly Staff, Cleanness, Dinner Buffet. Security. Overall is a great stay. I like the interior decoration. I enjoyed staying there. Thank for the front office staff and the management for their friendliness. I was vegetarian during that period and there are plenty of dishes in the buffet to cater vegetarians.
