The Golden Lion Inn

Everything was lovely. A great traditional pub with an unusual set up that worked very well. The kitchen was located outside in the extensive garden from a mobile catering facility. The food was excellent. The owners couldn't do enough for me, very friendly. I'm physically challenged so needed help with carrying and thought I wouldn't make breakfast but they were happy to have a continental breakfast for when I came down, which was fantastic. Croissants, various cheeses, toast and a huge cafetiere of great coffee. Breakfast was served in the pub in the morning and very good poached egg and mushrooms with everything else you could want. Delightful!

Excellent breakfast using locally sourced bacon and sausages which were ver tasty. The owners Sue and Brian were excellent host, very friendly and nothing seemed too much to make our stay a memorable one. It’s a country pub which exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend The Golden Lion to friends and family.

Absolutely everything was top class. Brian and Sue went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay, nothing was too much trouble. Brian was very knowledgeable about the area and had plenty of recommendations of things to do and see.

Great location - walking Offa's Dyke so allowed me to break the Clywdian Hills at Moel Arthur. 45 minute walk from this point and Brian organised a taxi back the following morning. Nice welcoming pub with good room and bathroom. Breakfast excellent.

Great country pub. Very welcoming as soon as we walked 8n a very warm welcome. Chatting with the landlord and lady and the local. Imidiatly felt at home and at ease, supet well organised to ensure everyone kept their distance with a one way system. Really enjoyed our stay and if in the area will definitely stay again. If you are looking for a relaxed friendly stay in the countryside this is the place for you.

Great location for walkers. Quiet village setting and ideal for couples wanting to get away from 'normal life'. Warm and friendly service - a home from home.

Great pub and lovely rooms. The food was fantastic as where the owners. They made us feel really welcome and even made us a packed lunch for the next day. It was everything we where looking for. The golden Lion Ale was a great pint too!

It’s a little gem ! Deep in the countryside of Denbighshire , as soon as we arrived the staff were so welcoming and that’s not easy when your social distancing ! We only stayed a night but it was great ,the food was excellent both dinner and a superb breakfast! Also the room was very comfortable and spotless , I highly recommend this pub and the locals were friendly as well !

The owners of this pub go out of their way to make you welcome and to provide for your needs. Good beer and good food. Properly friendly. As good as you are going to get from a tiny pub in a tiny village.

The rooms were clean and the hosts were great and made us feel very welcome.brilliant breakfast all hot and with us working we had a very early breakfast which was no problem for them at all.
