Location, room clean and comfy

Regulars in pub cygnet seem to be those that are barred from every other pub in town, and did not have set of teeth between them. Bar staff were lovely, but when we got there, i was first met by what i assume is owners, i was made told to sit and then ignored by a woman who I assume is owner , while the single member of staff who was serving busy bar got time to book me in, took 20 Mins. I found this woman rude to me and her staff, she is clearly not customer focused . Toilet seat and taps loose in bathroom.

Great location on the high street and a short walk to the beach. I stayed for a wedding at Westenhanger and the taxi was a short journey. Very friendly staff and the room was very clean and comfortable with a good shower. Some noise/music from the pub in the afternoon but they close at 11 so not a huge issue especially if you’re out for the evening. Code system to get in after closing and also for each room so felt safe.

There was a loud fan/extractor type noise directly outside the window, didn’t bother me too much but might if you’re noise sensitive.

APPLEDORE ROOM. Lovely little pub but when you went through to the staircase to the rooms it was like a completely different place very contemporary look. Room was a good size for 3 people 1 double bed 1 single large TV plenty of space to store your belongings without falling over them. Both sides of the double bed was USB plugs and the single bed had a dedicated USB plug. The room was lovely and cool but there was a heater there if we needed it. Nice tea tray available.

THESE MADE NO DIFFERENCE TO OUR STAY. The only things I can find and were damp patches on the ceiling some of the ceiling paint was flaking away and the bathroom was very tired but it was obvious the rest of the room had been done to a good standard. Bed side tables should have been wiped down. Window was very very hard to shut and the screws on the handle were loose.

Room very comfortable, even if needed a bit of repair work, to the window and bathroom. Breakfasts were brilliant. The beds fairly comfortable, but due to the hot humid weather did not sleep very well, although they had provided a large fan..

The restaurant. On the web site it says there is a restaurant and provides a menu, We travelled for nearly 3 hours so arrived very hot and tired and looking foward to a meal at the hotel, only to find the restaurant NOT open on a Monday, and the menu on line did not exist. There should be times of the restaurant openings on the web site. So we were not very pleased at having to go out to find a meal only to find most places, within comfortable walking distance,i.e. the High Street and surrounding area closed at 7pm. Apart from a Turkish restaurant and a Nepalese restaurant, that turned out to be lovely.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with a good sized bathroom and bath. The bed was comfortable and the TV huge. WiFi signal was striong throughout the building. A good breakfast was available. Ample tea and coffee supplied in the room with biscuits and two bottles of water. Toiletries were also supplied in the bathroom. I wished we could have stayed longer and would definitely return.

It was really warm and we had a long return car journey. A small fridge in the room ro enable us to chill drinks for the return trip would have been great. That's a small fussy detail though.

Staff were excellent from the minute we pulled up in the car park. Everyone was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a deluxe double which was spacious and very clean. The hotel is very central for exploring Hythe and surrounding areas.

My only suggestions are to put up a mirror in the room as some ladies like to dry their hair/apply their make-up in front of a mirror. A bath mat would also be advised as the bath/shower is rather slippery. Apart from these minor suggestions I couldn't fault the hotel.

The staff were very welcoming, the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room with biscuits and bottled water also provided. The hotel is on the High Street so a great location to get around. Breakfast was excellent.

Nothing, it was great - we were visiting family nearby and it was very convenient.

we stayed in the town house by the seafront rather than in the hotel itself. what a treat indeed. the house was over 4 floors, had everything we needed to cook and clean. 3 large beautiful bright bedrooms and a living area with sofa bed. Parking under the house, TVs, free wifi and even 3 balcony areas plus a garden. Easy to collect keys from safe at the house and leave at the property. we took our small Jack Russell who had the time of his life at the house up and down the stairs and at the seafront. The new bar owner of the swan was very helpful, great communication and kind. We decided to go and eat at the swan for dinner because of his great manner and service. what a credit to the swan. I will be booking again in the summer.

only thing I can say is beware if staying at the house as it states on booking.com that breakfast is included everyday; however this is an error and not the case. It really wasn’t an issue though as the owners had left an amazing welcome pack in the fridge of eggs, butter, milk, bread and water. So we just made Nan cook 😂. Also at the end of the street is an amazing cafe anyway! so one of the days we had bacon rolls opposite the seafront. there is a fabulous butchers too, that sells fresh juice, cheeses, fish and meat. Only other small thing was all bed pillows were very thin and not supportive, but we used towels under them to make more comfy. I will be staying again as it really is lovely so the 100s of positives outweigh tiny negatives

Very comfortable rooms which had been newly refurbished. Very friendly staff. Super breakfast included in room price. Don’t be put off by the entrance to hotel which is through the bar which opens on to the High Street.

Watch out for Sat Nav directions. The High street is a pedestrian zone for much of the day so the route to the car park brings traveller’s in from the rear where the entrance is in a narrow lane and not easily seen. Would be easy to think the Sat Nav was wrong
