Loved the cottage, very well equipped and beds were spotlessly clean. Dinner was great, service really quick and food was plentiful. Lovely staff exceedingly friendly. Breakfast in the morning was good quality, piping hot and again plentiful. Loved the fact that there were no restrictions on dogs this place is super human and dog friendly and will definitely go back. Lots of lovely little extra touches, board games and books. Could easily have stayed longer especially given the location so much to do in the area.

Cottage a little tired but very clean, we loved our stay.

The atmosphere is great. Lots of young people enjoying a drink in the pub in the evening but also a nice place to stay at reasonable cost where you can have an excellent meal served by very nice staff. Plenty of parking and a good location if you want to be in the New Forest or overnighting on the way to the Poole ferry.

A few very minor improvements in the bathroom could have made our stay better. The shower has no hand held element which is better if you do not want gushing water over your head. There was no plug in the basin and the light flickered all the time.

The Compasses is a lovely quiet location. When we arrived it was a lovely warm sunny evening and we sat outside with our dog having a drink watching the sun go down. The pub was full of character and characters, we had a lovely conversation with one of the locals. The food was very good value and the breakfast was of an excellent standard.

We arrived on the thursday of the Easter Weekend, breaking the journey before travelling to Kent for Easter. The ouside of the pub could do with a little tidy up, their were large chalk boards out still advertising Mothering Sunday and St Patricks day events which had been weeks ago. Also a few dirty ash trays on tables, just those small attention to detail things.

This venue is an absolute gem. I arrived earlier than expected and they were quick to book me in. Breakfast was 8am the next morning but as I had to leave by 8:05 I explained I wouldn't have time and passed. Without hesitation The owner Summin, asked the chef to arrange to start earlier and offered me breakfast at 7.40am. Above and beyond which was very good of them. Evening meal was superb. And range of draught lagers, ciders and ales was very good. Both Summin and BIsh provided excellent customer service, with a smile all evening. I stay away from home quite a lot with business, probably once a week at least and this venue has been the best so far this year. The room was spacious, clean and well decorated, the waterfall shower fantastic. It was a pleasure to stay here, and I will return when next in the area on business.

absolutely nothing, superb in every way

Quirky cottage but very comfortable. Very quiet location, some noise from the pub with people sat in the beer garden. Breakfast was included and very tasty and cooked fresh. Had dinner in the pub in the evening and again very good and plenty of food. Right next door to sports field for early morning dog walk, lovely walk upto the church and millennium beacon.

Bathroom was a bit tired, but very clean. A very tiny telly, being there only one night not a problem but maybe for a longer stay. Stairs up to bedroom are very narrow and maybe an issues for less mobile.

Damerham is a lovely village in a beautiful part of England near the historic city of Salisbury. We chose the Compasses Inn because it was in the right location for a family celebration nearby and the price for a room was very good. Parking was easy even though the pub was busy on a Friday evening. We received a very friendly welcome and were taken to our room which was comfortable and clean for a good night's sleep. We had an excellent breakfast and came back later for a delicious lunch with family members before heading into Salisbury for the main family gathering. Altogether a really good experience.

Staff very helpfull, lovely location, we had the white house (superior cottage room) which is seperate from the public house in the car park, which was very well equiped (although didnt detail that when booking) with fridge washing machine cooker microwave, dining table, none of which we used as we only stayed for 1 night

Wifi is poor in this apartment so investing in wifi extender by the owners would help, matress was a bit tired. Beds (double plus single) are upstairs where the ceiling height is low in places.

Warm welcome. They were happy to feed us even though we had arrived later than expected due to traffic delays. The food was delicious and served very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble. We were personally taken to the cottage and shown around. All the beds were made up ready and very comfy. Very quiet at night too.

Nothing really just niggles. More teaspoons would be desirable. The hot water tap in the bathroom was stubborn and refused to turned off.

The staff were really friendly, they allowed us to check in early as we had a wedding to go to and had made sure our rooms were ready. The room was clean and comfortable and had lots of homey touches including tea, coffee and biscuits. There was also conditioner provided in the showers, not just shampoo and shower gel which was a massive win. Finally, the breakfast was tasty and was included in the price. We had a great time and would recommend!

Nothing really!
