What a charming start with the most warm welcome from the staff? Lots of small touches to the beautiful cosy but roomy room, treats galore with a coffee machine and chocolates. Couldn't have wished for a better night sleep, my son slept like a log on the sofa bed that was beautifully made up on arrival. The bathroom was a fantastic size with a large waterfall shower and quality shampoo, conditiner, body wash and moisturiser. Breakfast was delicious, a great selection. Everything was perfectly spotless, would and most likely will stay again.

The only very minor thing was the parking was limited, we managed to get parking out the front as luckily there is no limit on a Sunday but this is something I'm sure the staff will be able to advise on.

The Marlborough is a charming pub/restaurant/hotel with history and character. It is centrally situated. The staff are charming, helpful and the food at dinner was very good indeed. I recommend. Do try to book a bedroom at the back of the building. The pub is very old, the windows allow noise in from the traffic at the front of the hotel.

The noise from the pub/restaurant in the rooms at the front is loud. We could hear word for word what people were saying from our room. The traffic noise is high too at the front of the building, no one's fault, just that the building is old and the windows don't shut out the noise. Sadly at breakfast there were very little options for vegans/vegetarians as they had run out of veggie sausages, didn't have any non-dairy spreads etc. However, the on duty staff made great efforts to try and find alternatives.

Staff team were amazing, friendly and courteous. They all went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Such a doggy friendly hotel, Alfie got thoroughly spoilt, chef even cooked him sausages for breakfast 💙🐾 The room was spotlessly clean and bed was so comfy, it looked out onto a beautiful courtyard that had a Mediterranean feel about it and it was so quiet. Breakfast was lovely and free onsite parking which is a real plus in Marlborough.

We stayed in White Horses Room, although very well equipped and very clean we felt it was a little on the small side. The breakfast was lovely and service great but unfortunately our eggs were very hard, which may suit some but we like ours runny. As everything else was perfect we didn’t like to complain but when we stay again and we definitely will, we will ask for soft runny eggs. Easily rectified 😃

The room was very characterful, sloping floors included (the building is very old and to be expected) the bedroom was very comfortable, clean and spacious. We ate in the restaurant, the food was very good, but oh my goodness, the steak was so delicious, served by a very funny and cheeky waiter, sadly I didn't get his name. They pride themselves on buying local and good food.... it certainly was that. Breakfast was also excellent; the staff were very freindly and accommodating.

Not a dislike, more of an observation. Due to the age of the building, in the winter it might be cold as there are gaps along the windows, which could be draughty in the cooler months.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Located right in the town centre with off street parking. Comfy bed with everything you need in a hotel room, excellent tea tray with choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and various biscuits. We didn't eat in the pub but the food looked and smelt very good and breakfast was plentiful and very tasty.

Bedroom overlooked the beer garden but no net curtains or privacy glass which meant the heavy curtains had to be pulled shutting out the daylight when changing.

Breakfast was excellent together with staff serving it. Dinner good quality and staff went extra mile to make stay very enjoyable.

I prefer leaving a tip at my discretion and not be given a 10% service charge at end of meal. I would have left a larger tip as service was great. However I feel they have got this wrong. This Hotel is entitled to charge a little more as service &food is good but leave gratuities at the discretion of the customer.

I was visiting in swindon on Thursday but needed to find a B&B near there on the Wednesday This was the cheapest in the area I'm so glad it was as it was a really nice place so it was a win win for us. It was right on the high street some lovely little shops friendly people. The room was lovely a nice selection of tea coffee biscuits a little fridge which was a bonus. A nice little bar they do food even though we didnt have any evening food we had the breakfast that was lush cereal yogurt protein bars apple orange juice breakfast pastry. Tea coffee toast alsorts of little jars of jam. Plus a full english breakfast. The staff was really friendly well mannered even the clearner in the morning was polite and friendy. It was good value for money and will be back.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful, always anticipating what we needed. The chef coming out when we arrived, to show us where to put bikes, we should have arrived on bikes. They found room for those in advance, but also gave us room for our Landrover when space was tigh. The deaf waiter was excellent, very engaging and attentive, made our evening meal very enjoable.

I've stayed at The Marlborough a few times now, its my go-to place whenever I plan some biking around the area as it offers secure bike storage. I've always had the 'White Horse' room so cant comment on any others but the WH room does me just fine, got no issues with it and it has a great shower. Lovely breakfasts and great ale.

Nothing to not like. If I didn't like the place I wouldn't keep going back.

Baring in mind, to me this was really a Pub with guest rooms, than a hotel. The staff were first class. they were professional and very friendly. With nothing too much trouble. The location was great. And even though it was in the high street it wasn't noisy at all. Room was very clean and had coffee and snacks in it. The Full English breakfast was as good as it gets.

Only a couple of things really, but these could be easily explained and happen anywhere. No water at all came out of the shower's hot waterside. But that might have just happened with no time to repair. I did mention it when I left. The young lady apologized and said she would report it. The table at breakfast was a tad sticky. But I've had this a couple of times in places lately and this maybe down to the spray these places have to apply these days due to Covid. But the above no way spoiled my stay here and i will go back..
