Reception staff and welcome lovely. Room like a mini suite: private staircase, big bedroom and bathroom. Plenty wardrobe space. Windows opened for fresh air. No noise from bar or beer garden. Dinner menu had reasonable variety and our choice (chicken supreme) was tasty, generous portions and came with plenty of seasonal veg. Breakfast in little side room was excellent, had everything we could have wanted.

Slightly hard to find - there are 3 inns on that High Street and car parking was off a different road. Room didnt have a shower (we were told that when booking) and hairwash-rose from bath taps had weak pressure not really enough to wash hair properly.

The Talbot Inn is a great place to stay if you like a sense of history. Part of the building dates from 1362 and is located in the medieval market town of Much Wenlock. The pub looked cosy and the bedrooms were in a small annexe beyond the adjacent courtyard. I was late from work in London. The traffic had been very busy and the journey rather tedious. Unfortunately I had to cancel dinner at The Talbot and didn't arrive until 22:15. The owner was very understanding and allowed us to check in at that time even though the village was clearly shutting down the day after Boxing Day. We had a comfortable, spacious room with bathroom/shower/bath. Breakfast was served in a well-stocked, cosy little room next to the bedroom annexe and hot food was brought in from the nearby kitchen. I loved it. Service was excellent and the eggs, perfect. There is a small car-park belonging to the hotel. Go through through the public car park and choose the road marked St Mary's Lane car park.

Town centre traditional Inn with large comfortable bedrooms in a modern annex. The traditonal dinner menu was very well cooked and of excellent quality from local suppliers, breakfast was similarly of excellent quality. The staff were all helpful and efficient. Although on-site parking was limited to 3 cars and a motorcycle there are three public car parks within very short distance and all were safe and low cost.

The lack of shelving in the otherwise comfortable and large shower room was the only minor irritation

Location excellent, B’fast and dinner very good. Very peaceful spot in the centre of the town.Small area to park at the back of the hotel, but a large public car park attached, with not unreasonable prices.

In our bedroom room number 6 the cupboard in the bedroom housed a large hot water tank, but was areal mess as it had not been cleaned out for years. The shower was not easy to use as at the tap end of the bath and as the glass pane on the side of the bath was not well attached meant that a lot of water would go on the floor. Far better to replace bath with walk in shower especially as being slightly disabled the bath was not very easy to use.

The Talbot Inn was steeped in history, but had all the modern facilities needed to make.the stay comfortable.

The only criticism l had was the actual restaurant was very chilly to eat in, except if you sat near the fire, otherwise it was cold. The breakfast room also was chilly. l realise we were all subject to exceptionally cold weather at that time, but the bedroom was so cosy and warm so the chill in the eating area seemed at odds with the bedroom.

The Talbot is well located. The staff are very nice and friendly and very helpful. We ate there each night and the food was very good value for money and extremely tasty. If we are in the area again, we would not hesitate to rebook a room here. Cleanliness of the whole place was very good.

Just a personal thing for us the mattress was a little soft for our liking.

A very warm welcome, very very friendly staff, warm and cosy bar area with a open roaring log fire, and a very nice atosphere in the bar / dining room. The bar stocked a good selection of craft Ales, and there was a very good selection of food on the menu at very reasonable prices, and they did not skimp on the portions. (i can recommend the three bean chilli !!!). The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, the bed linnen was clean and crisp, and there was a selection of toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous with a good selection of cereals on offer, along with yogurt, and bowls of chopped fresh fruit. we plumped for the full english, one traditional, and one vegetarian which was served very quickly, was very hot, quality produce and very delicious. 10 out of 10 !.

Not a major issue, but the car park is fairly small, so we could not park our motorcycles there, but wasn't a problem as it connects directly with a public car park, that is secluided and Free of Charge after 6 pm, we parked our motorcycles on the public car park without any problem.

Friendly welcome. Excellent service and quality rooms spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentyfull orderd what you wanted. The pub itself was run by a Friendly chatting landlord and the staff were also polite and helpful.also beer was quality and cheap compared to Devon prices with nice chatty locals young and old. The meals were something else well prepared and if I say large its an understatement they were massive and well priced. Definitely a place we will return to. Many thanks for a great stay and welcome

Nothing not to like. However hard you try. and that's a FACT..
