Downstairs was a relaxing and comfortable experience, both in the bar in the evening and in the morning during breakfast.

We did enjoy our stay, however we found the room to be very basic and in need of some TLC and the price we paid for the room for 1 night was a little expensive considering the basic room lacking the TLC and no breakfast included. The cost of the breakfast was quite a bit extra on top of what we'dalready paid for a very basic room, however the breakfast was nice and the service and staff experience was both pleasant and friendly.

The staff were excellent. Friendly, welcoming, obliging and lovely to chat to. Could not fault them and good staff play a very big part in any establishment and they have a great team. Excellent breakfast. Didn’t need anything more to eat until our evening meal!

It’s an old property so the walls are thin. Didn’t realise this until someone knocked very aggressively on our wall telling us to shut up. My sister and I were doing a crossword and although chatting and laughing it’s wasn’t what I would consider “ riotous”. The shower was a little weak and the water didn’t always run hot but it was sufficient fir our two night stay.

Fantastic central location to explore Nantwich. Evening meal there was superb, not cheap, but worth it. Dining room and bar area beautifully designed. Staff, especially Catherine and Caitlin were super helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay so memorable and enjoyable. Quite a unique experience staying in such a historic property with original features and many a story to tell!! Would definitely return for a visit and recommend.

Catered for Gluten Free (Coeliac diner) really well for evening meals (fantastic GF chicken pie!), but not so much for a continental or light breakfast option (no GF cereal or separate toaster for toasting GF bread), an alternative was provided however.

Very convenient for the shops and civic hall a short walk away as attending an event there in the evening hotel staff very friendly and helpful one of the ladies in the dining room took my case downstairs for me the next morning when checking out so nice of her. We didn't eat there but the restaurant looked lovely bar staff great and efficient as it was busy so hats off to all the staff 🥰

No lift but it is a very old building so unfortunately had to take the stairs which were a bit wonky

This hotel could not be more central, and is a beautiful building. Room has everything you need. Nice bar (very nice quality wine!) No problems with late arrival/early checkout.

The room I stayed in (3) had a very slanted floor, which is not surprising as the building is very old and all the floors are slightly wonky! The only problem, is that the bedclothes actually slid off, a couple of times, as the slant is so severe! I also slipped on the carpet, because of the slope. The staff could maybe mention this to guests, so they know what to expect. Not a major issue, though.

Just got back from staying the weekend for my wife's birthday. The hotel is amazing, absolutely gorgeous old building. Not one level floor or wall in the whole place but it was fantastic - really adds to the character. The staff are all brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast is really nice. We didn't have any evening meals as we wanted to go out into town and try some local restaurants. The only one "moan" was the water pressure for the shower was pretty rubbish. Not sure if it's the same for the whole hotel or just room 17. It was enough to get washed under but not really what you'd expect for a shower. All in all though, we had a fantastic time there and before checking out, we re-booked to come back again next year for the Nantwich Food Festival. Lovely place with great staff and fantastic atmosphere. 9.9/10 ( 0.1 deducted for shower 🤣🤣 ) Thanks and see you next time

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, I couldn't fault them. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

The room was too hot, tired looking, there was an iron mark on the carpet and it looked as if it had seen better days, paint and plaster chipped off in the bathroom and bedroom. No shower, just a hand held shower attachment to the taps. The banister at the top of the stairs to the top floor was very wobbly and quite honestly an accident waiting to happen. Generally, I felt it was overpriced.

I liked the original features of an old historic building. This gave it a certain quirkiness even wonkiness but a genuine old world charm. Yet it was fitted with all modern conveniences for a very comfortable stay. The staff were more than helpful carrying my bicycle up and down the wonky stairs. The hotel itself could not be more centrally located and has its own popular bar and restaurant.

There was no view from my room, just an enclosed roof top.

We loved the quirkiness due to the age of this very old building. The room was adequate for our stay. It was clean with a modern shower room. The staff were extremely helpful with my dietary requirements and providing a non-slip shower mat. The location was perfect in the centre of town. We parked the car in the allocated parking place and didn't move the car until we left.

We weren't so happy with the breakfast system with three different prices. We would have been happy to help ourselves to the cornflakes and juice etc. The water pressure is very low but that is not they fault the building is very old.

Ideal central location with good car parking facilities Very clean, beautiful bathrooms in rooms Staff were lovely Great food in the restaurant Would stay again

My room was at the front and it was a tad noisy at night. I appreciate of course that as it's a historic building double glazing is totally out of the question. If you're out late, it wouldn't be a problem but if you want an early night I'd probably suggest asking for a room away from the front.
