Location is excellent in the centre of Northallerton; staff are very good and room and bed are both very nice. Ate at the attached fish and chip restaurant which was superb. Was able to park our car in the back yard although space is limited.

The hotel very kindly supplied earplugs and the reason became apparent on the second night of our stay. The Amadeus nightclub is circa 50 yards away and thus if you are going there the hotel is a superb choice. If not going clubbing, then one might wish to avoid Friday and Saturday nights.

Spacious, clean, and comfortable room, conveniently located on the High Street. Staff was really friendly and even allowed me to leave my suitcases for a couple of hours after checking out. Convenient to have the pub downstairs for food and drink. Thanks for the great stay!

Very grateful for the earplugs provided, since the High Street does attract a fair share of loud youth at night on a weekend. Plus on Saturday the market stalls begin to set up their fare early... Might be worth asking for a room towards the back if you are a light sleeper!

Large room, clean and comfortable, lots of storage, very central and with a small car park. Easy private access to rooms through side entrance rather than through the bar area. Staff were nice and helpful.

Large double wardrobe but only 4 hangers which wasn’t ideal but adequate for just an overnight. Quite noisy due to single glazed windows, the hotel did provide ear plugs, but not sure I would stay in a room overlooking the main street on a market day again as the stalls setting up in from the early hours woke us both up and found it difficult to get back to sleep.

This was a good room with rooftop views - if you were tall enough to see through the high little window. It was clean and had comfortable beds, bedside lamps and everything you might need. The shower was clean and the water was hot. Towels are a bit thin but functional. We were able to have a lovely dinner in the restaurant downstairs.

Unfortunately there is a nightclub behind the Katch building that was very noisy. Not sure what time it stopped, as I resorted to a sleeping pill but the peaceful evening we were hoping for was disturbed by the noise.

Our stay was on a Saturday evening and due to its location being in the centre of Northallerton, it was very noisy late into the early hours (3.30am) with pubs and bars closing late. We were provided with earplugs in the room. Our rooms were at the front of the building so it was very difficult to sleep. A room in a different part of the hotel may have been quieter.

Big, light room, everything looks brand new. Clean. Plenty storage furniture. Quality sheets/towels. Shower room fine. Good breakfast at Golden Lion in morning.

Not much parking space. Did hear revellers on high street. Woken briefly by returnees in room above early hours. However earplugs were supplied in room! All to be expected in a heritage High Street property on a Saturday night and would not deter us from booking again, excellent room and value.

This is easily the best location you can stay in for Northallerton - right on the high street and within walking distance of the station. The room was clean and a nice size.

We requested a double room and the bed was two beds pushed together which isn’t ideal but was fine. The issue we had was with the noise. Our room was at the back of the hotel opposite the road from the town’s nightclub. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and both were extremely loud and we were woken up at 2am both nights by drunk people staggering around outside shouting. Clearly the hotel know this is a problem because they left ear plugs by the bed (which was nice of them). Obviously not the staff’s fault and other rooms may be better. We would probably stay again but if you want somewhere quiet don’t stay there on a weekend.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating! Lovely location with food and drink easily accessible on the high street. Very comfy bed and pillows. Housekeeping team is amazing mostly left my room spotless.

It is cold despite putting the heatings on (they're on a timer so don't always come on when you want) so make sure you bring a hot water bottle or extra blankets (hotel doesn't have extra blankets). The high street is loud at night but the hotel do provide ear plugs which help. I did request for a room on the 1st floor but did not get one even though I was messaged to say that they could accommodate that.

It was a lovely room a great size for the price. although there was no lift staff assisted with luggage at check in the rooms are above a bar/restaurant but there was minimal noise it was a lovely stay.

A small fridge would be a useful addition Even with the heating off the room was very warm, perhaps a thin sheet available on the bed so duvet not required? the tv had some strange issue when it changed channel it would often either loose sound all together or switch to descriptions of what was happening i had to climb on a chair to switch it off at the socket to reset this problem it happen frequently.

After a night out in Northallerton town centre it was great to skip over to the accommodation without having to wait for a taxi. The room was exceptionally clean. The ensuite bathroom was great with a good shower. Cute little storage for luggage and clothes. Iron and tea facilities. I would definitely stay again.

I can’t say I disliked anything. Although it was a Friday night and in the town centre with a few rather merry passer by’s - (one being myself)… with the window open on a warm night you could hear the jolly folk staggering along. But with the free ear plugs, I slept like a baby and it didn’t cause me any issues. The market did start setting up early which I acknowledged and went back to sleep causing me no issues. Great location and accommodation!
