I stayed here for two nights on June 24-25, 2022 and brought my big Golden Retriever along for the trip. Glad that they allowed him . I think the extra charge was something like 10-20 bucks. Having made reservations from a travel site, I did not know what to expect. I arrived at 10:00 p.m. and was grateful that the owner stayed up to let me check in. This motel was purchased by a Sihk Indian family and they have done a really nice job of refurbishing the place. There were nice wood lattice screens around the perimeter of the motel rooms and those gave it a nice feel. The swimming pool, while I did not partake, was in excellent shape and the water was sparkling and clean. There were a gaggle of kids enjoying it during the days. Most of the rooms were taken by either families with kids or work truck guys. The grounds were clean, for the most part. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The only real noises were from a couple of drag racing cars on Saturday night. No noises from the hotel or it's guests. My room was upstairs, on the end. #58. The stairs were a tiny bit creaky but I am a large gal, so maybe it was from that, LOL. The room, while not glamorous, was clean, in good condition and had a mini fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. The bed spread was kind of unattractive. The towels were small but very clean and soft. My coffee maker did not work. The only criticism I have for this place was that the shower curtain was entirely too small and short and the shower pressure was so strong that it blew the curtain around and let a LOT of water out on the floor. Could turn into a dangerous situation and I would recommend that they put in better , longer curtains to keep the water inside the shower. One other comment as to safety... when going down a small flight of stairs on the inner right hand corner of the downstairs part of the motel, is that someone had left a big bundle of garden hose laying right at the bottom of the stairs.

My coffee maker didn't work and the shower curtain wasn't big enough.

it’s very nice. I like the remodeling that was done. But the pillowcase over the bathroom window was tacky and didn’t really protect my privacy plus it didn’t keep the heat or cold out

The drape in the main room was flimsy. you may want to invest in some thermal back drapes.

Service impeccable, location grounds very good. Amenities in room more than adequate. Safe and friendly.

Maybe the age and size of the bathroom? As a female traveling needs are a bit different, but that is about all I can think of.

I loved the character of the holiday lodge. Our room was the wells fargo room. Historically, Grass valley was a great mining and timber location. The hotel reflected this. The staff was friendly and our room made me smile

Firm bed mattress offered a restful sleep.

Discarded cabinets stored outside our door. Air conditioner/ heater unusually loud as it cycled on and off. That would often wake you through the night.

The rooms have apparently been updated. There is no musty smell like you may find in older properties. The mattresses were very comfortable. We stayed during the labor day weekend, rented two rooms, and paid about $119 - 145 per room. We paid extra for one room with a small, narrow balcony with a small table & two chairs... was worth it. The view of hills covered in pine trees was not expected (you also see the Main St road but it took little away from the view). Parking was FREE and there was sufficient parking even though it appeared it was fully booked. The staff demonstrated genuine customer service!

The pool and pool area are VERY small. Because it was the labor day weekend, the lodge appeared fully booked and the pool was full of kids ... so although we wanted to use the pool, there wasn't enough room for all.

For an older motel it was exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available.

Nothing could have been better.

When I got my key, I went to my room, which I noticed wasn’t cleaned or already booked, I went back to the front desk told them of what I seen and they promptly gave me another key to a different room which was very nice, had a small balcony, shower was good and bed was perfect.

I love the room! it’s so clean and nice! nice balcony and parking was right in front of the doors. staff that was on duty was awesome! I will be going there again soon!

Ken is great. Room clean. Couldn't ask for more in my time frame

Don't like the price jumping up $20 from Friday to Saturday when I am trying to figure out a way to stay longer.
