Holiday Inn Express Monterey - Cannery Row, an IHG Hotel

The service was really good. The staff were always friendly and attentive. The sheets on the bed were soft and in looking for a room in Monterey many we're queen sized, I was happy to find a king bed. It was really close to Cannery Row. Within walking distance.

It was small and the closet was made into a kitchenette which didn't leave much space to hang clothes. The bathroom was big but for a room setup to handle disabilities it still has a short tub when a roll in shower should have been installed.

loved the location. loved how nice the bathroom was and the products. staff was kind. didn’t get to try the included breakfast but they did have complimentary coffee all day. had some coffee mate creamer which i loved. normally complimentary coffee just comes w plain half n half

there was an odd *stain* on the couch 🫣 not sure what it was but didn’t wanna sit there. we just threw one of the blankets over the couch to be safe. but i’m iffy about the cleanliness of the blankets and beds regardless. stain could’ve been milk or soemthing 😅

Spacious room with comfortable beds. Good breakfast included, with interesting pancake maker. Hot drinks available at lobby anytime- great after return from the cold outside. Location was convenient. Safe and sheltered free parking at basement. Our room was beside the back entrance (accessible with room card) and near the road, but no issues with noise or privacy at all. Overall, we had a good stay here; would recommend.

Just for those with mobility issues to note the split-level layout of this place means there are steps fleading to any level of rooms around the courtyard. (This did not bother us, and in fact having rooms arranged around a courtyard on a split level design gave the hotel an interesting, more "homely" look, but just good to note.)

Very nice stay within easy walk to Cannery Row. Room nice & large with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was usual that you would expect at Holiday Inn. Seating areas for breakfast a bit limited but we managed OK.

Feel that if everyone came in a car there would not be enough parking spaces for them all. Be warned staff do not adhere to notice on the doors. We left a Do Not Disturb sign on the door on our last day but staff still entered and changed towels whilst sign was up.

Conveniently located, walking distance from Monterey Bay Aquarium. Great variety of breakfast options. Ample self parking. Comfortable beds, pillows, and linens. immaculately clean bathroom. Great lighting and alarm clock with USB two USB ports for charging.

Cold air intrusion around room door (second stay in same room). No weatherstripping around it. Heat pump function of room HVAC malfunctions and blow freezing cold air for 5 minutes, then switches to backup heat. This, coupled with cold air intrusion around front door makes for big temperature swings in winter.

This hotel was nice. The rooms were clean and and the bed was comfortable. From the time I checked in to the time I checked out the staff was friendly and took time and explained things. Breakfast was good. This place was also was within walking distance to Cannery Row. Surprisingly, I needed heat in July and was glad to see that the room had a heater because I've heard of places that are much more expensive and they didn't have one. Enjoyed my stay and will stay here again.

This is a standard but practical hostel in Monterey. The aquarium is at walking distance. The center of Monterey is a bit far walking. The room is standard but was very convenient. The hostel has a free parking lot that was very helpful. We could leave our bags at the front-desk after check-out for almost a day, this was very appreciated, the hostel team do their best with limited offering at this this place.

The breakfast service is at its strict minimum. Still a buffet style but served on cardboard plates and plastic cutlery. Small robot to make your own pancakes (funny still).

Breakfast was great and staff is amazing! Really happy to bring my family here year after year. Love how quiet it is generally and everyone keeps to themselves. Great location and parking!

Beds were uncomfortable. Room was well decorated but needed more adjustable lighting. Overall still a great experience.

We loved every bit of our stay at this holiday inn! Staff is super friendly, rooms are huge and so clean, at first I was concerned about the firmness of the bed (more firm than I typically prefer) but I slept great with no issues as far as my back and neck were concerned. Loads of choices for breakfast and the eggs were amazing. We walked every where the whole stay and it wasn’t an issue (not athletic either lol). I ended up leaving my iPad behind by mistake and didn’t notice until I was back home, called and they were already on it! Got it shipped to me with no issues. Love this place and will definitely be back!

The energizer bunny stayed above us and ran around all night long but that’s to be expected in a family tourist town.

Rooms were clean, property was well maintained, breakfast was good, it was close to the walking path near cannery row, it was a short walk to the aquarium, and parking is under the hotel.

The remodel was nice, but it looked rushed and incomplete. They may be going for a more nautical look, but the bathroom didn't match the theme. It's a little bit picky considering the price was low, but if it was done with more care, it would've put it over the top and above the rest for sure.
