I really liked the Bridge Hotel. It was a short walk from the very centre of Smithton. The beds were comfy and the staff friendly. Even when my room didn't need servicing, they still gave me fresh towels and serviced the room. I took the cheaper hotel room option, rather than the motel rooms, and that meant I had a view over the town, a glimpse at the Duck River and could see the Anzac tree lit up at night. One of the staff carried my suitcase up the stairs since it was getting rather heavy with souvenirs by then. The meals in the bistro were good. I particularly liked having a toaster and microwave oven in addition to the usual jug and fridge. They even had Arnott bickies in addition to the teabags - haven't had bickies in a hotel room for years.

The room was a little shabby, for example, a couple of knocks in the paint-work and a small rent in the lace curtain, but the block-out curtain was fine.

Odd question - was the hotel romantic? Romance is how you make your holiday yourself. Bridge Hotel was an economical stay with friendly, helpful staff and the presentation was clean. Great value meals with excellent value for seniors.

There was nothing to dislike. We are realistic. The hotel was cheap and the stay gave us very good value. We were in the area as tourists and bushwalkers and did not spend a lot of time in the room.

I thought breakfast was a bit expensive, but the choice was mine as to what I ordered. Meals in the restaurant were excellent. Staff we’re also excellent. Would recommend this hotel to stay and have meals.

The way Booking.com advertised room at cheap rate without stating this rate was for a room with shared facilities. Room advertised at cheap rate is shown as motel room, NOT hotel room with shared facilities. On arrival we were lucky to be able to upgrade to a motel room.

Friendly and helpful staff… Clean , with plenty of bathroom linen available… Kitchenette to self cater….. A good base for exploring the region…

in the main original building, it was quite old and the rooms, while clean and comfortable, need not at all resemble the advertised pictures of the rooms….. perhaps the pictures referred to the rooms in the separate (newer?) building? The bathrooms in the main building, while clean, really need an upgrade….loose tiles, and too narrow toilet doors.

I stayed in one of the motel-style rooms attached to the hotel. The room that I stayed in had clearly had a recent upgrade and had a "swanky" bathroom. No complaints about the room itself.

The hotel has a bottle shop. Patrons of the bottle shop need to drive past all of the motel rooms to get off the hotel's grounds. Some cars have noisy exhausts and so guests in the motel rooms are subjected to intermittent car noises throughout the evening until the bottle shop closes.

The twin room was clean and tidy with a queen and double bed. The room was quiet which was a nice surprise as its next to the hotel. Had dinner at hotel and the food was alright as the picky eater enjoyed their chicken burger. The car was parked in front of the room which was great. Proximity to the bottle shop - a couple of steps to get drinks and snacks.

Proximity of the room to the bottle shop drive through and the traffic generated by it was a little noisy. Difficulty in locating staff to check in but very helpful when found.

Room well equipped and clean. Shared shower and toilet clean and functional. Shared meal preparation area well stocked and serviced daily. Meals at the hotel good quality and affordable. Smithton is near many sights so it is a good base to explore the north west of Tasmania.

Hotel quite busy so if you plan to dine there, make sure you book in advance.

The location is easy to find. Lots of on-site car parking, a well-stocked bottle shop and a bistro made everything easy. Most staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.

Bedding choice was limited to doonas with a sheet. For those of us who find doonas too hot, this makes sleeping tricky. It would be good if there were blankets in the room so we could take off the doona and just use a blanket.

Clean and spacious. Had everything you need for an overnight stay.

Loud when people slamming car doors and talking outside your room in the early hours of the morning which is not the motels fault... Might be a good idea to leave a reminder for other patrons to be considerate about how sound travels through the carpark...

Nice room recently refurbished , with parking outside & WIFI. The location is good near the center of town & across the road from a nice park / river . The highlight was dinner at the adjacent pub which was excellent , their was an extensive menu with a mix of modern & classic dishes. Staff were super friendly & so were the locals who know where to come for a good feed :-)
