Lovely hotel and bedrooms Exceptionally clean. Fantastic breakfast. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Bottles of water provided every day of stay. Great location- between the sea and the tram.

My only criticism is that the rooms should have a fridge. They are certainly big enough to accommodate one. A previous response mentioned a communal fridge available for guests but that wouldn’t be convenient for us. A minor criticism but much cheaper hotels manage to provide in room fridges.

In the heart of De Haan, with very clean and practical, spatious rooms, interesting interior and superb bar, this hotel is a safe bet for a troublefree stay. The staff is very nice, breakfast very good. Try the home-made gin in Coq'eau Bar... A lot of bars (we liked to sit in Roger!) and restaurants around, and you can ask for reservation at the reception. A tram stop is nearby, and the sea just a short walk away.

A fridge in the room wold be nice.

The Astoria is a very handsome building with both spacious bedrooms and public areas. The rooms are attractively furnished with functional design and are clean. The beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is copious with lots of choice and swift at-table service.

The bread could be better at breakfast, as it is too soft and mostly white. This is my only complaint about the breakfast food. Dogs are permitted in the breakfast room which is not hygienic. I saw a man stroke a dog's head putting his hands through the dog's hair. He then went on to pick up all of the tongs at the self-service buffet which was quite nauseating to see. The breakfast area should be a no-go zone for dogs and all other animals (assistance dogs excepted, of course).

The hotel was light and fresh, our room was excellent and comfortable. Being British and not speaking Belgium, the staff were so friendly and understanding. It was embarrassing that they could all speak good english. The breakfasts are exceptional with an superb choice. Could not believe that we could park outside the hotel with not parking charges.

I can only think it would have been nice to have english breakfast in the room.

Top location, a few minutes walk to the beach. Near the mini golf court and playground for kids. Kids can ride the gocarts on the surrounding park domain. Excellent breakfast and nice, comfortable room. We asked for a room with a shower and we got one. Coffee/tea facility in the room: always a plus for me. It was our 2nd stay.

The only small downside for us was that there's no small fridge in the room. That would be more convenient.

Beautiful lobby and breakfast area. Breakfast was phenomenal, one of the best hotel breakfast we ever had, also plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

Rooms were ok, no decoration and not as pretty as the lobby. Bathrooms are a bit outdated and no shower, only a bathtub and no attachment for the shower head which was inconvenient and the floor got wet.

Very good location. In the center of the town but far enough from the beach to be less busy. Not that De Hann is somehow extraordinarily busy (September) but still. Beautiful architecture (we like art deco). Moreover, in the interior, they left everything what is need to keep the style but the hotel is arranged and furnished in modern way what makes it comfortable from functional perspective (with one exception described below). Comfortable rooms with big enough storage area (we stayed for one week but it should be sufficient even for 2-weeks stay). Kettle, coffee machine works fine and rooms are supplied with coffee and tea on daily basis. Complimentary water is delivered each day. Not so obvious in 4-stars hotels. Personnel is very polite. They are doing their best to help you and make your stay to be a pleasure. Breakfasts are very nice: good coffee (both from coffee machine and prepared in the kitchen), you can order egg-based meal of your choice served on very stylish small pans.

We have found only two problems: - there is no air conditioning in the room and it is a problem even in September. It was really hot in our room over the night. It did not spoil our stay but it is problematic. - except the reception desk stuff, there is a real problem with communication in English (e.g. once we have asked for hard-boiled eggs and - in the end - we got them pretty much raw). Not a big problem but, I would say that it was pretty much unexpected and surprising. Not to blame the hotel too much, let me say that this is quite a common problem in De Haan.

The location was excellent, lovely areas to relax, the bar area was first class as were all the staff.

Only two suggestions, in the rooms bathroom a shower curtain would making it easier & because it was a first floor room you had to keep the curtains shut to avoid been seen, maybe a net curtain? this would still allow the light in.

Nice 100 years old hotel in Belle Époque style with fresh renovated facilities. Good breakfast which included even a champagne :) In the center of the city, not far away from the beach.

The floor in the room is covered by the new carpet with the old parket underneath which makes the noise during your every step...the breakfast area is divided into two zones - one with the buffet and another one with the tables with a narrow corridor in-between the zones... might be crowdy...

A very atmospheric hotel with an old-time vibe. The staff welcomes you with a smile and offers you a glass of cava, at check-out we received delicious chocolates for the way. The location is also great, in the city center, very close to the beach, and at the same time there is no problem with parking nearby.

Although the hotel aspires to be exclusive, the inside is already quite worn out. In addition, in the room, the toilet seat was broken, and the electrical installation went crazy in the night (flickering, crackling), cutting off the light completely for few minutes.
