Very well equipped room and friendly welcome on arrival. If we'd stayed longer than one night, we'd have loved to have made use of the balcony accessed from our room. Having a 'fridge in the room was also a bonus to store our water. Being able to park close to the hotel was also an advantage

It wasn't easy to haul our luggage up 2 flights of stairs as there was no lift (although there is a stair lift). There was obviously some DIY going on which was a bit noisy at first but luckily it didn't go on too late.

We have stayed here many times, for a night en route etc. This was our first visit since covid and the younger generation are taking over and doing an excellent job. Marvellous dinner and breakfast. Service excellent and very friendly. Free parking nearby good in public car park behind hotel but don't trust your satnav; you need to access it via Engelstraat not Gasthuisstraat.

Beer selection in cafe has been reduced but still good (St B Tripel on draught). Room heating a bit noisy if you need to keep it on because of very cold weather.

There were no reported problems with the room or most of the hotel staff. There was however one member of staff who thought it was fine to lecture my friends at their dinner table about his religion and how they should all follow Siekism.

My friends did not enjoy being lectured when all they wanted was a quiet meal. I am sure they all respected his commitment to his religion, it is a shame he could not have respected their beliefs as well.

Nice room overlooking the Market/Main square. very clean. Fridge, TV & Wifi all good. Staff were lovely and helpful. Poperinge is a great location for visiting St Bernardus Brewery or collecting beer from St. Sixtus (Westverletren). Visited a couple of Museums (Polish/War museum near the Spar Shop) and Talbot House (the home of the Toc-H movement) plus some wonderful bars.

The hotel is clean, well maintained, in a great location and the staff are very friendly with excellent English. We are return visitors and look forward to coming back again! The owner makes every effort to ensure the hotel is a real home away from home and this is reflected in every aspect of your stay.

We ended up in the Maison de la Paix (the additional holiday house/overflow accomm) on Ieperstraat which we were not expecting. When we arrived in Poperinge the funfair/fest was in full swing in the centre of town, including the Grote Markt and we found it difficult to get to the Hotel de la Paix by car. They then informed us we would be in the Maison which was fine by us as it was much quieter, away from the fest. A member of staff offered to jump in the car with us and take us to the annexe due to the roads being closed. They were exceptionally helpful. The room was in the holiday house and was great, very clean and stylish although not the largest (only slight criticism.). The shower room was immaculate and we also had a large roof terrace. We did not take breakfast but had drinks and snacks on the terrace of the main Hotel that evening.

The room did seem rather hot and the climate control system didn't seem to work especially well but this was a minor irritation. We opened the large door/window to the balcony.

Second stay at this hotel in Poperinge. Lovely clean rooms with good facilities and in an excellent location. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of pillows available. Our room had its own terrace which was great for sitting on in the evening to have a drink before dinner. Free parking available just a short distance from the hotel in an off road car park behind the hotel. Friendly welcome and good information available around the foyer.

Air conditioning in the room was a bit hit and miss - reported to staff. Narrow stairs to the rooms - didn't bother us but be aware if stairs are an issue although there is a stair lift to the first floor.

Beautiful room, very well decorated, only issue the bed had no headboard so you can’t sit up in bed due to sloping ceiling

Top floor room had sloping ceilings and bed is a bad position against a sloping wall, no headboard, small detail but if the bed was against the other wall it would be perfect, thanks

We have stayed here several times because everyone is so welcoming. The breakfast is great value for money. The restaurant is equally as good, the food is great and plentiful with top class service. The decor throughout is of a high standard

Brilliantly located in the main square of Poperinge only an hour or so from Le Shuttle, with safe free parking nearby. Spotlessly clean and modern with a brilliant shower in the spacious bathroom. A small outside balcony. Very effective Air Con. it was 33*C outside, capsule coffee machine and great beds.
