After staying near João Fernandes beach for a few days, we wanted tranquility and this is what we got at Villa Raphael. The feel of the Villa is quite exclusive, as if you're a personal guest at Raphael's villa. The reception and restaurant area is beautiful, with nice garden and gorgeous views. The service from all staff was excellent. As it was an adult only guesthouse, it was always tranquil in the garden and there was no loud music (just some quiet jazz in the background). Ferradura beach is a much quieter beach than the beaches near the centre. The pool was a good size and we could swim some short lengths, and the water temperature was perfect. There were lots of sunloungers with shade and other comfortable seating in the garden, and also some chairs with parasols on the beach for use by Villa guests. Our standard room was a good size, nicely decorated and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and air conditioning worked well. There was a good choice for the a la carte breakfast, and the quality was very good. We also had dinner there one night and it was very tasty, and not too expensive. The town centre is not close, but it takes less than 10 mins by Uber or taxi. We had a lovely relaxing stay, and would recommend Villa Raphael to anyone staying in Búzios.

Due to the location, we sometimes had to wait 15 minutes for an Uber to get to Villa Raphael. On our last night there was building noise (drilling until about midnight!) from a room or building next to us. We would appreciate an effort to reduce single use plastic, e.g. no plastic straws or little bottles of toiletries in the bathrooms. Please use biodegradable or metal reusable straws, and for shower gel etc. large refillable bottles, which we've seen in other hotels in Brazil.

Lovely small hotel right on the beach with heated outdoor swimmig pool. A calm oasis from the busy beach. Staff were very helpful and friendly especially Paulo who gave us lots of helpful advice and tips.

There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room or iron/ironing board, which we would have expected. Nothing much else in the area so need car/taxi to get to shops/restaurants although Ubers are easy to get and inexpensive.

This hotel was absolutely perfect… the location is amazing, right on the beach, the service absolutely top notch and great value for money. You could easily leave your stuff on one of the many cabanas by the pool, which was safe and watched by the staff, then walk down to the beach and enjoy the sand/ocean before returning. The food & bar options were also delicious. We found it incredibly peaceful and would love to go back!

Loved, loved, loved this hotel! Would definitely stay here again if returning to Buzios. Such a cute style / interior, a lovely pool and garden with a view of Ferradura bay, and the breakfast was such a treat every morning. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The general atmosphere of the place is just so nice.

The whole place was perfect! We felt like movie stars! The staff was very helpful, available, friendly and always smiling. The building was lovely. Our room was perfectly clean and comfortable with no annoying noises. Breakfast was great! The price was very reasonable. Our stay was very perfectly peaceful. We would LOVE to go back!

This is a great hotel located right on the beach, yet quiet, and with pretty good services as well. The view was excellent. The staff were very nice, the food was good, and the room was just what I hoped. Parking was easy, secure, and plentiful.

Like most hotels in Brazil, this one doesn’t have screens so mosquitoes are impossible to avoid. The menu is limited which is ok for a short stay. But it is a consideration given that it is far from downtown. You have to book a specific time for breakfast which is a drag when you are on vacation. They never explained the hotel services. For example, could I have used the tennis court? If so, how? No gym.
