We ended up having to rebook for the following weekend because we were sick, and the staff were very understanding and did not charge us even though we had to cancel in less than 24 hours. We went up to Fairview because my husband's family had been one of the original homesteaders there and we had never been up to Fairview even though we only live about 4.5 hrs away in Edmonton, and the ladies at the front desk were very helpful with local history and even helped show us on a map where my husband's family's log cabin was still standing and helped us look up people we may know in the Fairview phone book. The Dunvegan also has a great breakfast restaurant, sports bar, and other dining options right in the building so that you don't have to drive around looking for a place to eat. We would definitely stay at the Dunvegan Inn again and we are planning to come to Fairview again to learn more about my husband's family's history and visit the pioneer museum, etc.

Nobody cleaned our room while we were there, even though when we rebooked we stayed for 2 nights, but that was fine because the hotel didn't charge us for the second night and gave us a second room for free because the original family suite we booked somehow wasn't held for us, but it actually worked out better for us to have 2 rooms rather than one larger family suite so that our oldest son could have his own space, so everything worked out great.

I liked that the hotel provided options for persons to use the facilities at the college next door. The location was great because the college is next door and the township is just a stones throw away

Had to change rooms because the first room I had was strong with cigarette smoke, not sure why because it is a non smoking room. I think the hotel could have provided a complementary bottle of water for guests.

Stains on sheets and curtains, room was hot even with a/c, beds were not great as I could feel every time my daughter moved…as such I had a terrible sleep.

Coffee maker pot didn't match maker... it was to low to allow coffee to drip out stand alone... likely a replacement for a broken pot that does not fit quite perfect

The closeness to town. The shower was clean. No mold around the tub.

Staff hardly said a word. When entering the room, we noticed all the bedskirts were torn/ripped. The website said the hotel offered a pool. When we asked where the pool was, we were told there was no pool other than the community pool for the town across the street. It was very disappointing as it was the reason I booked that hotel.

The rooms were dirty and run down, they smelled very musty, the beds were old and not comfortable the rooms were filthy and had blood stains on the sheets and box spring cover. The bathroom door had what appeared to be a kicked hole through it, and it didn't even close. The air conditioning was weak and didn't cool the room at all. They switched out our room for another one, but it was just as bad... the photos are from both rooms that they put us in. We will never recommend this inn, nor return.
