Canalta Rocky Mountain House

The family suite that we booked had plenty of room for us to move around. Our daughter was very happy to have a separate room with two twin beds for just herself. There was a microwave along with a mini-fridge in the suite which is rare. If anyone wanted to nook something for dinner they had a few frozen meal options for sale at the reception. Everything was very clean. It was quiet at night. The breakfast had the regular amount of options that most hotels have. The staff was very warm and helpful. We went closer to the centre of town for dinner, but Boston Pizza and Tim Hortons are right close to the hotel.

The breakfast area could be a little be bigger to accommodate more families at the same time. Other than that we were very happy with the hotel.

On point! We have travelled extensively all over the world and have stayed in 3-5 star places most of the time. These guys get it: Extremely clean rooms, the thermostat is adjustable (and responds quickly), the showers have excellent pressure and drain, the bathroom vanity has space to place your toiletries, the rooms and the beds are big and comfortable with lots of pillows, the mini fridge is empty so you can put stuff in it, there are big desks and space to place your luggage, breakfast is what you need and the pool has a hot tub and a water slide. Last but not least, the staff is extra friendly and competent. Thank you for getting all the important basics right! Would love to stay again and can’t recommend enough.

Pool facilities were great. Exciting slide, water temp in pool and hot tub were perfect. Some disappointment for our group because there were no little kid friendly slides. Front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I informed them about a drink that had been spilled in the elevator by another guest and it was cleaned up right away. The lovely woman taking care of the breakfast made pancakes for my grandchildren even though they weren't on the menu for the day. Also, the toiletries provided were good quality and I liked that they were produced by an Alberta company. Coffee station was well stocked and good quality.

There seemed to be sources of excess light in the room at night. I had to put a scarf over a light right by the bed and could see other sources in the rest of the room.

The breakfast was excellent. I grew up in Rocky, so the location to my family is excellent. My grandkids came and stayed with me while I was there and they really enjoyed the pool and the breakfast.

Your parking situation is a bit ridiculous. Why do you allow crew truck to park along the entrance of the hotel. These spots should be reserved for the elderly or for people who have a hard time walking, like myself. I had to park away over on the west side and had to walk to the front doors. Not a great experience as I was in quite a lot of pain for the rest of the day.

The staff was great. They made us feel like family. Gave us ideas where to go and site see. I even let the manager pick a painted rock for the flower bed. Would recommend this hotel over and over again.

Sadly we had a family emergency and had to leave at 9pm to the hospital. Packed up and left to Red Deer. We are still waiting on a call from them regarding the charges, but they could be giving me a few days due to the reason we left in a hurry. I do not have anything bad to say regarding the hotel.

We liked this room with 3 full beds. Very spacious room with efficient air conditioning. The beds were very comfortable, there were lots of towels, the staff was very accommodating, Tatiana actually printed a map for us to go visit a candy store/ Rolf’s grocery. I requested trash cleaning and change of towels and supplies to housekeeping staff passing by in the floor and they did it immediately. Breakfast was super. It is a good location to stay and visit/ hike in Siffleur Falls/ Crimson lake/ Twin Lake area and even the Icefields and return. Will surely stay here again.

Not sure if the bathroom exhaust/ ventilation fan actually worked. There was a switch though. I didn’t bother to tell the front desk. Also, if they had Netflix/ Amazon prime and some other news channels such as BBC or CNN, it’d have been nice. There was a bit of coffee stain on one of the bedside tables, which I wiped off with a Kleenex on our check in.

I liked that it was right off the highway and was close to a couple places to eat. The pool was great, and the food at the breakfast buffet was great too.

The tables in the breakfast area seemed to have a permanent stickiness to them, and the steps up to the motel doors are rusting and eroding away.

I really enjoyed the staffs friendliness and going the extra mile for me and my family. Bringing extra blankets and I lost my lighter in the morning and didn't want to wake my kids and the front staff looked everywhere to find one for me and did so I could have my morning smoke and coffee without waking the kids.

It was great all round if I had to pick something it would be no bacon for the breakfast got to have bacon

We only stayed in this hotel for one night. It was a very comfortable stay. We all had a peaceful sleep. Airconditiong was cool and quiet and there were more than enough pillows. We were able to use the pool and hot tub for an hour as there was still health restrictions that time. Our two little boys had a lot of fun. Another plus factor for this hotel is they provide hot breakfast which includes hash browns, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and toasts, and muffins. Their staff were also very helpful and very professional.

We used their BBQ grill. It was an awesome feature but I hope it wasn’t right by their main entrance. It could be a bit awkward. I wish there’s a BBQ area with some picnic tables too. Another thing I didn’t quiet like is that the shower head can’t be repositioned which was a bit difficult for our two little kids. Other than that, all’s good.

All staff was super responsive and friendly. Clean facilities including pool and hot tub. Very good hot breakfast and well organized dining area. Comfortable, fresh and spotless beds and pillows. We forgot to carry or toothbrush kit, the front desk provide us with dental kits at no extra charges and the bathroom toiletries already contained a mouthwash. Room was equipped with a responsive digital thermostat for perfect climate control. Had a good peaceful sleep. Thanks Canalta for making our trip worthwhile.
