We stayed one night at the Sandman in Blue River, before starting a canoeing trip in Wells Gray the following morning. The hotel staff were very friendly upon arrival, and I enjoyed them laying out some of the quirks of this unique hotel in a somewhat remote community. The room was very clean and quiet, and we enjoyed a restful stay before our departure.

I have nothing to complain about. The price was fair relative to the current price for a hotel in this category during the high season near a Provincial Park.

Didn't expect much as looked like an ordinary Motel but the room was extremely comfortable and attached to a restaurant. Although extremely busy the one waiter was very quick with our order and the food,though simple, was fresh and tasty. Reception staff ( Dan /Doug?) was amazingly helpful giving us discount vouchers for the local River Safari. Plenty of free parking and next to main highway. Not 5*Luxurious but great value for money and very comfortable beds

The location is great, the staff are knowledgeable about the area. Restaurant attached is delicious, good pricing and exceptional staff.

The cleanliness has dropped a bit from previous visits. The garbage wasn't emptied, and it appeared as though a thorough cleaning wasn't done in between visitors. The bedding was stained.

Lots of amenities provided; iron, ironing board, coffee machine, mini fridge, hair dryer, microwave, air con. Restaurant across from lobby so that's easy to find food. Generally clean and comfortable.

It is an old building so the circuit cuts if you turn on air con and microwave or hair dryer at the same time. Ice machine is broken but provided by the restaurant. No elevator.

The hotel called us early in the afternoon on the day we were to check-in to warn us all the restaurants in town would be closed that night and suggested we eat before getting to Blue River. The check-in staffer was awesomely friendly.

Room was hot and a/c was loud so if the staff had turned it on in advance it would have been great.

Old mattresses stacked up outside in the back, old front door mats on the ground near the office, old cardboard boxes near the office, cigarette butts on the ground outside my room, paint crumbling, place needs a lot of TLC.

it was a perfect location to stop off on our way to Jasper. staff were very friendly and nothing was too much bother. sadly the grill was shut due to chef being taken ill so finding food elsewhere was not ideal but we managed. as it was so hot the staff gave us ice buckets in our room which was so needed after a long hot journey.

From check in to check out, excellent! I was too generous with my last review of the place with crap bed. This hotel was amazing! First thing I saw was the comfy bedding and fresh fluffy pillows! The room was spotless and well appointed. Bathroom perfect. Everything a traveler could need. The desk manager put me around back with my loaded car and it was quiet and so comfy. I can't emphasize comfy enough lol Speaking of manager, the person who checked me in was super friendly yet professional. She graciously accommodated my request for a room where I could park by door and told me all I needed to know about everything else. Plus the area is nice to stop in too. Loved it here!

If I had to pick one thing it would be that the room fridge is tiny and no freezer for travel packs. But truly, I can't fault Sandman Inn for anything. Great place!

The room was in good condition, good carpet, no scratches on furniture, and a good amount of space. Friendly and helpful front desk.

This was an old hotel: fascia, ceiling and ac unit showing their age. Did these spoil the stay? Absolutely not. Hotel was full.

It was fine at the end of a long drive. Good restaurant, excellent food but the server was running around like a headless chook trying to do everything and stuffed up our order.
