Knights Inn Merritt

Really liked Not having ashtrays on ground outside every room which just encourages my neighboring guests to loiter and smoke outside my window. Thank you

Small inconvenience as a solo traveller, I didn't really mind, but probably would be more inconvenient for couples to have to use kitchen sink for brushing teeth and shaving etc due to absence of sink in bathroom. This feature is a plus however if you view it as allowing a kitchenette in same square footage not possible having sink in bathroom. Overall, room was best value for money on recent trip involving 6 different accomodations!

The air in the room was fresh, and aside from one of two beds it appeared to be clean. It was nice to have a full kitchen, but there was no kettle, so I made tea using a big pot on the stove.

There was hair (short, dog hair?) In one of the two beds, all over the pillow and bottom sheet when I pulled back the cover/blanket. It was midnight and no staff were there. Luckily the other bed seemed hair free, which hopefully means it was cleaner... When I arrived the room was also freezing, the heat wasn't on and the bathroom window was open. Luckily it warmed up quickly. The mattress was very soft and springy.

Customer service was incredible. I stayed during this winter season when it hit -36. I was concerned about my vehicle starting and I was asking about outdoor power outlets so I could plug my vehicle in. The receptionist changed me to a room which had outdoor outlets. When I got to the room I realized she upgraded me to an upgraded suite room, free of charge. The suite was nicely renovated and very clean, it was a very cozy stay for the week. I'll be sure to recommend to friends/family, thanks for everything!

The weather seal at the bottom of the door was leaky. It created a really cold draft when it was -36 outside, it made it hard to heat up the room.

Easy to find. Parking right outside the suite. Quiet. Diner serving breakfast, lunch and dinner located just across the road. Owner was so friendly and accommodating. Grassy area outside suite with BBQ and large enough for walking dogs. Wifi worked well. Ceiling fans in each room and a/c in bedrooms.

Musty smell which improved when a/c and ceiling fans were on. Bathroom musty smell was quite unpleasant.

Having arrived in Vancouver that morning, Merritt was an easy place to stop on route to The Rockies. The Knights Inn is situated on the southern part of town, a quieter area. The BBQ was used by other guests and we took advantage of the laundry. Parking is directly in front of the rooms. We had dinner at a local pub which was good. Chloe’s Diner is just across the road and very good for breakfast, although not open till after 8am.

Decent price and a decent place. Very friendly staff and I got a free room upgrade for some reason. I didn't need the extra space but it was still nice. And just so happens the room number I got upgraded to was very significant to me. No such thing as coincidence.

The TV box was malfunctioning and randomly restarting. Not their fault. She said she'd call and get it fixed.

The location was close to shops, by foot about 20 minutes but a nice way to see the town. Nice and easy to get to, and suzie was super nice and welcoming. The suite was small but had everything you needed including a small oven, fridge, and microwave. Good AC as well!

The sounds of other guests sometimes would come through the suite, once in a while but nothing unmanageable.

Location was close to the main highways by not noisy. Rooms were clean and great for a family to stay in as it had a kitchen and tv area. TV worked great and all the channels were available unlike many places we have stayed. The lady checking us in gave us an end unit and that was great. We were only overnight and it worked for us travelling through.

The couch -- I am not sure why motels have the most uncomfortable couches to sit on. That is my only complaint.

clean, and very quiet. as I’m working night shift they put me in a corner room and the staff was very delightful

This property is maintained exceptionally well. The owner is an amazing guy and very helpful.

The A/C was too loud. Had to turn on the AC in another bedroom and keep doors open.
