loved the pool, the comfort of the room, the location, and the personnel - very kind and caring, the area of the hotel is beautiful and well maintained

too pricy, breakfast is not included, the restaurant itself was very much back-ordered and we had to wait for an hour to get our diner. It was delicious but overpriced.

The indoor pool/hot tub and the indoor walkway to access it were appreciated. We didn’t use the outdoor pool bc of weather. The ability to eat dinner on the property is convenient when arriving right at dinnertime, however the restaurant is super $$$. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash supplies were nice & our kids loved all the TV channels. The lobby with the fireplaces is welcoming. The location is pretty but a short walk to downtown. We drove because it kept raining on and off.

The restaurant was overpriced for the quality. It cost us C$200 to eat, and I got a salad and we have two small children that got kids’ meals.

The hotel is beautiful. The grounds were nice but small. Dog friendly. The spa was wonderful.

The restaurant menu changed btw Friday and Saturday. The staff seemed to all be new and not know what to do. No bottled water in room or in the lobby store or front desk. No other food or drink in room. There was an event that I was not notified about and my room was situated where I could hear the music all night. It wasn’t over until 1am. I would have left my disabled mom and goldendoodle at home had I known I was attending a rave. Or better yet, I would have flown to Ibiza.

The variety of amenities offered was great, indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, fire tables, gym, restaurants etc. Property is beautiful and it was great to see the deer grazing very close to where we were sitting.

Did not like the layout of our room. Very awkward, bed position to TV not great and bathroom could have used a pocket door. Mold in and around the shower......floor grate in shower was lifted and it was all mold and dirty! The equipment in the gym needs updating.

We like the ambiance! St. Andrews itself is a beautiful welcoming place as were the staff at the resort. The Thanksgiving Dinner was amazing! So many delicious choices. I have stayed there in all four season's in the past . Christmas was my favourite; of course it was the season of warmth, cozy fires and special decorations!

I have a question more than something I didn't like... Do you have rules around pets at the resort? Ex. I see there were families with pets staying there and I am wondering if you have designated rooms for families travelling with pets or are all rooms open to receive pets?

Short-staffed! Everywhere in the resort. Be ready to haul your own luggage (they will lend you a cart). They do their best and we are all grateful for that. Note that the village’s restaurants are closed Mondays AND Tuesdays. The 2 that are open are mobbed. Time your travel well. Lovely setting. Devoted to well behaved dogs of all shapes and sizes. Minnie was the star: a 160 lbs Newfie, all love and sweetness. The hotel keeps an open piano and guitar for guests to enjoy. The hotel construction reminds of the Del in San Diego. The coastal village of St Andrews reminds of Bar Harbor. Nice people everywhere. Nice queen room: roomy and view of water over the tree line. This is NOT a sea front property. We had room 433. Great wifi: get on it once and that’s it. Part of Autograph collection of Marriott: sign in once and you’re signed up for all their properties. Despite shortage of staff, we will be back.

Slow and short-staffed. The restaurant Braxton was not worth it: overhyped and with few choices. Expensive and rather tasteless. Not even a decent post dinner cappuccino. We were better off at the Whale pub downstairs, with more choices, better prices and fun music. At this point, only open Friday-Sat-Sunday. The breakfast buffet was great if you can afford the at $25 Canadian. Choices in town are also available. Should not have to ask for new bottle of gel in shower/non slid bath mat (we had to buy our own) and more water in shower than the trickle we had. The housekeeping is spotty. We had to call almost every day to get our room serviced. Towels were regularly not replaced and we wondered why the box of Kleenex disappeared. One phone call to front desk solved it all.

Our room was lovely, and the staff provided a thoughtful anniversary card and plate of sweets. The gas fireplaces were cozy.

For a hotel of this caliber and with its historic reputation, I would have expected seasonal decorations of some kind. There were no flower arrangements, pumpkins, etc., and the single dime store paper decoration on the plate table for the buffet was pitiful. We had planned to stay for two nights, but both nights, the only dinner service available was a buffet for $60 per person. The buffet had some good dishes but generally was mediocre. There was no food available at the bar.

The room and facilities were lovely, verging on sumptuous

The fact that Marriott outsources its restaurant table bookings is appalling, complicated, and manifestly unsatisfying. The electronic greetings that were emailed led to a generic Marriott site and did NOT enhance the sense that we were anything more than a transactional afterthought. Frankly, Marriott should invest in a personalized electronic experience - it's not as if this feature does not exist and is used by many. many hotels. What a turn off. No electronic experience would be better than that which we received.

Loved that they have electric car chargers, as we were on a road trip from Halifax to Toronto. The staff at the hotel were wonderful. Bed was very comfortable and the room was extremely quiet (but it was late November so very much a quiet season). The gift of a book documenting the hotel's history was a nice touch.

While I respect that this is an old, historic resort, our room seemed a little "tired", with the carpeting a bit worn. Also, given how unoccupied the hotel was in late November, a room upgrade would have been appreciated.

Hotel and grounds were lovely - like an old world elegant hotel. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast buffet held quite a variety and was delicious. The room was very attractive and comfortable.

There was a broken drawer on the dresser in the room. I was rather surprised to see something like that considering the attention paid to overall decor. The dinner I chose was very disappointing. In fact, after a couple of taste tests, I left the main course behind and only ate the salad. I had anticipated a meal that would be as exquisite as the hotel itself and was very let down.
