Pinecone Motel

The owners are the kindest people and they put a great deal of care into their business. The room was super clean and the bed was comfy! This is an old-fashioned classic motor inn that reminds me of places I stayed has a child growing up in the 70s. The motel is located in a lovely spot with picnic tables under tall pines with fairly quiet surroundings. The simple with breakfast was perfect for our needs and included home-baked blueberry muffins and scones. The owner walked us over to our room and made sure we were comfortable and all of our questions were answered when we checked in. Will definitely stay again if I'm back in the area. Such an excellent value. Sussex is a nice little town with everything a traveler might need and has a wonderful bakery, coffee roaster, restaurants, art studios and stores for supplies.

We chose this motel based off reviews. It's a modest little motel and I'm not sure we would have chosen it had we just driven by but reviews were really wonderful and we see why. This motel is in the heart of agricultural country and you do have the occasional wafting through of farmland when you sit outside but don't let that deter you. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly. We were shown our room and how to work the remotes for the newer AC unit and television. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There was a park-like area outside with picnic tables that was lovely. I think the highlight of our trip were the breakfast. Homemade scones and donuts were a part of the selections and they were amazing! For a simple, unassuming motel, we were very impressed by the attention we received. You just don't see that anymore. We would absolutely stay here again.

When we drove up, the garages were open and looked cluttered. I think that detracted just a bit. I'd consider putting up some pretty latticework or a bushes or something to hide from the public.

The owner made sure that we were well taken care of. He anticipated the questions before we even asked 😊😊 The freshly basked blueberry muffins and blueberry biscuits for breakfast was a wonderful touch. It great, not far from the Bay of Fundy and only a few hours from Peggy's Cove.

Really nothing. I like a bit more light but that is more a personal preference than overall improvement needed. I don't generally reply to the review request but for this place I felt it important to let others know what a jewel this place and the owners are. 😊😊

The staff was very friendly. We arrived quite late, but he still showed us where our rooms where and he explained us how to use everything in the room. We didn't asked for it, but they gave us two rooms next to each other with the opportunity to open the doors between the rooms, so we had one big room. And the breakfast was fantastic. The egg was already empty, and then they just made us some new and fresh scrambeld eggs. And they had fresh and handmade muffins and scones. They were absolutely delicious.

The bathroom in one of the rooms was not that nice anymore. But the otherone was perfect.

The hosts were exceptionally friendly and attentive and the room was spotless and comfortable. I would call the facilities "vintage". For me, that's no issue at all. I liked such motels in the 1960s and I still do. It also has modern updates: AC, blazing fast wifi, microwave, fridge, etc. Comfortable quiet, inexpensive, and there is a great restaurant right across the street. The breakfast was great, and the hosts made fresh blueberry scones, which were a treat.

I liked everything!

Simple room, with everything we needed, fridge, microwave, enough room for chargers, seating area. Air conditioned. Continental breakfast was simple but pleasant (seating outside on the porch, fabulous fresh homemade muffins and scones). We used the BBQ ( which was spotless and clean) and fire pit for a campfire. Owner was very helpful, he even set up and lit the fire for us. Also helpful in tips for visiting nearby Fundy Park and generally very friendly and service-oriented. Restaurant and bar within walking distance, country food (very large portions). We would definitely return. Thanks for a great stay

Located on highway (quiet at night though).

We are so impressed by this motel couple's very warm, polite, thoughtful and meticulous. We arrived after 8pm, they in person guided us to our rooms. We booked 2 rooms with connected door. (1 room with one Queen bed, 1 room with 2 Queen bed). The rooms were clean and tidy. The rooms equipped with a useful desk, chair, bench. The next morning breakfast was great: freshly baked muffins, boiled eggs, yoghurt, milk, coffee, tea, hot water.

Charming motel situated in a quiet, peaceful, away from the road, forrested location. Super clean, renovated rooms and washrooms. But above all the charming, humble, very polite couple who runs it, provided excellent, above board service that made my family's stay very pleasant. We felt welcomed for real. We will book this motel again, perhaps for a longer stay, next time we come to visit the Fundy National Park. I highly recommend this motel.

For the first time ever there is nothing I didn't like about a place I stayed in. This is truly a great place to stop and rest.

This is a very basic motel — but it's clean and comfortable. A nice bonus is that breakfast to the room is included (unfortunately there was a regional power outage when I was there so I didn't get to enjoy it.) This motel is only about 45 minutes from the Saint John airport — a nice alternative to stay in Sussex rather than Saint John...and 8 minutes from Sussex main street (try Sussex Ale Works for a nice pint.)

Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Room was good size and very clean, nice gadgets to charge phone etc. as well. Breakfast goods were baked fresh every morning, with a terrace to sit outside. We would stay again.

Location is okay, restaurants at a few minutes drive in Sussex, fundy park is about 35 minutes drive. Alma might be a better location to explore fundy national park.
