LOVED this place. It was in a very good location, above a wonderful café. It was perfect for our family of 5. Although it was small in square footage, it felt spacious and cozy. It had everything we needed and we felt very much at home in this space. We had an opportunity to meet the owner who was very nice. The view from the back side of the rental and the patio was perfect. We initially had hotel reservations but the hotel reviews were awful so I panicked and changed to the Aurora Bayside. It could not have been a better decision and we were sad to say goodbye
Nothing that we didn't like but some things that could be easy improvements. Night lights would be helpful. There was no sponge for the dishes. There were some cobwebs on the light fixtures and in the corners. Those things didn't bother me, just observations.

The cabin location was perfect! The scenery is beautiful especially when you get to see the Aurora Borealis right on top of the house. Bed was comfy but the sheets were a little rough and dry for our skin. The property was quiet and it was very safe. We enjoyed the dog's presence and reminded us how much we miss our fur babies.
Bathroom sink was too small so water kept falling off while washing the face and hands. The door of the cabin needs to be fixed. We found a used tissue in the bathroom when we first walked in. Just needs the rooms to be checked properly after cleaning.

If you make yourself as a local to have a "live" experience in a Old Town Yellowknife, this must be the place. The room was clean, tidy and yet cozy to make us feel home, the view from the room was excellent, and great restaurants are all few minutes away. On top of everything, the Innkeeper, Mr. John Leuis made our stay/trip flawless -- we cannot thank him enough for his quick response and kind hospitality. After COVID pushed us back almost 2 years, we finally made it to the destination that we wanted to visit for a decade. We will remember this awesome experience for the rest of our life, and, if all possible, this should be our first choice to return/stay in Yellowknife in a heartbeat.
Absolutely nothing. Everything was organized and coordinated. Flawless from booking through checking out. Truly appreciated the precious effort from the Aurora Bayside Inn Team to make this experience possible.

The Aurora Bayside Inn is a fabulous little place. Close to town but out of the way, right on the water, and with excellent food and drink served right on the bay, right out back. I felt like I'd fallen into an oasis after a multi-day motorcycle journey. John, the owner, was super-accommodating throughout, the room was nicely appointed, homey, and very comfortable, the rate was great, and I can't say enough about the location. I felt like I was staying in a friend's house, not a hotel. If I ever find a reason to go all the way back up to Yellowknife, I can't imagine even looking into other accommodations. It was hands-down the nicest place I stayed on this 2-week trip.

The Aurora Bayside Inn is located on the Great Slav Lake where I was able to enjoy several winter activities in March. It is conveniently in "Old Town" and I was able to walk to the Ice Palace for the Snowking Festival, get picked up out back on the frozen lake to go ice fishing, and walk around the corner for a wonderful flight in a De Havilland Beaver. The accommodations were very comfortable and there is a restaurant on property where you can have a nice meal with wine and watch ski planes take off and land or see teams of dog sleds go by. I loved it! Very relaxing.

The location is amazing. We walked right onto the frozen lake to view the aurora. Also, the restaurant that shares the building (Fishy People) is so good. We ate there four times!
The shower is on the fritz. The water would be a good temperature and then suddenly go all the way to scalding for about thirty seconds and then all the way to freezing for about thirty seconds. Hopefully they can get this fixed, because otherwise the room was perfect.

the location is suburb. the host is really friendly and willing to help in a very balanced way. don’t choose something in the city, choose bayside inn. it is waaaay better than the pictures. since Yellowknife isn’t too big, it is still walking distance from everything (20 min to the city or 3 min by cab). host is available by text. the rooms are exactly what you need and expect from an inn. loved the place. northern lights can be visible from the inn (and good!). it is great to watch it with a cup of tea and wait for it to appear and then go on the balcony or go towards the garden. you really feel like a local here!
with all the rooms taken, all the sitting places in the living room might be taken.

I really like the location, it was safe and close to the water.
There is a restaurant attached to the cabin but it is a different owner so we didn't have great access to the lawn. Also sometimes there are random parties at night right outside the cabin. However, if you purchase a drink you can sit at one of the table and enjoy the view.

I solo traveled to Yellowknift for a ten days trip, only saw the Northern light in 3 days due to weather condition, I joined a local aurora hunting tour, its great! but if you stay in the Aurora Bayside Inn, for sure you can see the light by just sitting in the laung with a cup of hot coffee, Want to take a video! just walk out to the lake ,the inn is beisdes The Great Slave Lake in the old town which I am interested to stay there to feel what is the town Yellowknift was . The Inn location is excellent, room are clean and the bed is super comfortable. My flight arrived at mid night, John the housekeeper is very helpful and heart warming, gave me details on how to get into the Inn. On the 5th days of my trip I still haven't seen any northern light up to got your text telling me it came out. Thanks John!

Its a great place to stay. Great view from the deck and have restaurant on main floor. Owner is very helpful and asked many times for anything that I needed during my stay. It has a common kitchen with all supplies.
I believe the building has central heating, which was not on during my stay. So the room was cold. But owner provided me a room heater, that helped.
