Our stay at The Archie & Isidore Hotel stood out as one of the highlights of our Cape Breton Road Trip. We knew we were in for a treat from the moment we stepped into our room. It was spacious, and the attention to detail was evident. There were candies, chocolates, and beverages including Nespresso coffee waiting for us :) The beds were clean, comfortable, and welcoming, promising a restful night's sleep after our adventures on the road. The fluffy, white towels and bathrobes added a touch of luxury, making us feel pampered and cared for.

Nothing that I didn't like about this place :) I truly loved our stay here.

They did a great job converting this older home into a beautiful and cozy hotel. We had room #2 in the main house and it was very nicely decorated with an amazing bathroom (bathrobes too!). It was all very fresh and clean. Snacks were provided in the room. Great sitting area with snacks, books and info on local attractions. A super nice workout room. Good communication with owners, though we never met them in person. Perfect location to get a good sleep after driving Cabot Trail counter-clockwise.

Yogurt and protein bars and good coffee were provided for breakfast but some fruit would have been really nice.

Room #1 was all on 1 level. Close parking with ramps. Beautiful view. Large room & washroom. Snacks & drinks available to purchase at reasonable prices. Plush housecoats & soaker tub. Bidet toilet.Small well appointed gym. Whale watching with Captain Zodiac within walking distance. Great souvenirs at the discount dollar store. Good supply of camping accessories at the bargain hunter behind Le Gabriel .Breakfast/lunch or dinner at LeGabriel restaurant were all fantastic, nearby. Live music every evening from 6-830. Excellent supply of shampoo/cond, soaps, etc...

Almost impossible to think of things we didnt like. When pushed I would say that we noticed : No hairdryer. No post on back of door to hang clothes on.. or anywhere for that matter.

Everything!!! There is a gym, a laundry, mini fridge, stocked drinks and snacks, Nespresso, a plethora of towels, generous amounts of soap, shampoo, conditioner, robes, privacy, i even found Dawn dish soap so that I could clean out our reusable water bottles which is so needed after several days of road tripping…everything here is so incredible and smart. We’d definitely stay again!

We loved everything.

Cute old house with interesting architectural details. Loved our view of the wharf out our window. Great location--right across from the water and close to restaurants. I liked the art in the room. I loved the thick, fluffy towels, and the fact that they gave us extras!

I always appreciate more counter (horizontal) space in the bathroom for all my toiletries. There wasn't much here. I appreciate that self check-in is becoming more popular these days, and the hosts did send several texts to check on us, but I really enjoy meeting people face to face and being able to chat with them. I missed that. Also, maybe in the future they could offer a simple continental breakfast so we don't have to go out looking for one.

Great location with quiet room. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. When they get the shared kitchen set up it will be a bonus for making your own breakfast. Excellent nespresso coffee in the rooms, even supplied decaf, a challenge to find in Cape Breton spots we found.

The room is small and the bathroom is tiny. If you carry too many extra pounds or you’re a bigger person the toilet would be a challenge to get to. Otherwise a good stay. The checkout time is 10:00. A little earlier than most accomodations.

We were in Room 7 and we loved all of the little touches that just go the extra mile even down to the charging docks for multiple devices, excellent in room coffee and complementary snacks. The room was beautifully appointed and we loved that there was laundry facility available.

Can’t think of anything

The location was perfect! You can see Cheticamp island and the old St. Peter’s church from the balcony. The room itself was adorable! They also provided nespresso, sparkling water, and room snacks. Such a nice touch! The hot tub was fantastic. I highly recommended checking this place out!!

The room was comfortable and sweetly decorated. The location in Cheticamp was perfect. Check-in and out was a breeze. The bed side cubby thing was a great feature to hold everything.

A quirk with old buildings but a bit awkward, you have to sit diagonal on the toilet to avoid the post. Needs more surfaces to put your things as you prepare. And more hooks or hanging for two people.

Property was very clean. Bathroom products were excellent. Lots of towels - a decided plus. Nespresso coffee was a bonus. Windows opened wide.

Bathroom door sticking was an annoyance. Too close to the highway - so traffic from early in the morning. Minibar products vastly overpriced - $4 for a bottle of water? Maybe in New York, but not Cheticamp.
