We love the Marmalade! Bright, cheerful, very clean and a comfortable, cozy bed. Neil and Cheryl are very responsive to any request via text or email - they live right next door. Each room has a fabulous view of the quiet cove, individual parking place, and close to great restaurants in Sheet Harbour. Coffee and fridge. Breakfast in bed is a wonderful amenity. There is no AC, but the cross breeze when you open the front windows and balcony doors is very refreshing and not having the loud AC noise helps create the quiet and calm atmosphere.

Jam with the breakfast would have put it over the top.

The Marmalade Motel is a pleasant, chic boutique motel. We ordered the very fresh and tasty Charcuterie Box which was waiting for us when we arrives and the "Breakfast in Bed" Box which was delivered in the morning with fresh coffee, yogurt, fresh berries, and wonderful muffins and biscuits. Delicious, It is a beautiful location even on a gray day. The rooms were nicely decorated ands a comfortable. The location was a great stop on our way from Cape Breton to Halifax.

Could have used another small table either on the patio or in the room. Would have made eating breakfast a bit easier.

Location is a bit isolated on the eastern shore. Rooms are nicely decorated and very clean.

Motel is a bit pricey for being in an isolated area, not many places to eat, or things to do. Could use a microwave. There is no air conditioning although leaving the windows and patio door open gives a nice breeze, but a ceiling fan would be beneficial. Could use a chair by the desk and a full length mirror. We stayed in room#8 Boho, wicker chairs although stylish were not comfortable, a small couch or settee would have been more comfortable.

Traveling from the south shore of Nova Scotia, on my way to Cape Breton Island, The Marmalade Motel in Port Dufferin was a perfect stopping distance, and I love the name! It's very cute and beautifully decorated with fun themes. My room was No Drama Llama! It's a great place to overnight.

I had a slight challenge with the no-contact check-in. My phone stopped working just as I arrived, and I couldn't access the entry code for my suite. After a bit of dithering around I was able to find the owners' house and get assistance. It's a learning process for a non-techie person like me.

Despite a storm approaching we absolutely loved our stay. The location and surrounding towns are beautiful. The ease of no contact check in was ideal. Parking right outside. The view was beautiful. Coffee maker in the room. Comfy bed. Good shower. Balcony. Chocolate on the pillow. Nicely decorated. When there was a last minute 'planned power outage to prepare for the storm' the owners brought us over some battery candles which were really useful.

This place is amazing. There is not much around for many miles so to have found this place was a blessing. I was traveling alone and needed to leave early in the morning. I had not seen a grocery store in the last 2 days so was worried about what I would find for breakfast. Cheryl showed up with a banana and there was a perfect little coffee machine in the room. The bed wins the prize for the best bed I slept in and the sheets... they are so silky I am looking to if I can purchase them myself. The No Drama Llama room was so cute. If you are in the area this place is the place to stay!

there was nothing to not like - it was great!

The breakfast was a great start to the day. The facilities were clean, spacious and modern. We had a great view of the water and a nice little patio where we could sit out. The property itself also had other areas where you could sit out, a firepit and bbq, stone oven and a little safety dart game you could play. Check in process was easy and owners were very responsive to questions. Midnight snack I ordered was there when we got there and nicely presented in a presentation box.

Would have been nice to have a microwave. The closest places to have a meal were quite a distance away. Also they indicated there was a designated smoking area but my husband couldn't find one so went out to the road.

This is an amazing little gem of a boutique hotel. Every room has an individual charming and whimsical decor theme.The owners were extremely available and congenial! The breakfast tray that was delivered to our door ( as an add-on feature) was lovely- fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, eggs, pastries- all that one would need for a great start to the day! The washroom features updated fixtures, towels were amazing ( including two large Turkish towels), the bedding was lovely- hypo- allergenic down alternatives which was perfect for me. The property itself is stunning- right on the ocean with outdoor seating, BBQ facilities, hot tub and individual private decks adjacent to each room.

Absolutely nothing! my only complaint would be that it is too far from Toronto🤣

Location,Location location! ‼This Motel is situated on the southeast coast of Nova Scotia overlooking the Atlantic. Each balcony guarantees an ocean view. The interior of the motel has been redecorated with great thought and care. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the bed very comfortable. The owners are very attentive and have future plans for the motel. You can tell it is a labor of love❤

There is no air conditioning in the room which wasn't a problem because of the beautiful ocean Breeze. It could be a problem when the temperature is above 30° C

This is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants but the setting is lovely and this hotel is a gem. Fun decor (but not over much) and very clean and comfortable. Individual porches all with view of the water - plus group sitting areas. Order breakfast - it’s worth it!!

There isn’t really anywhere to put clothing and the people in the room next door were a bit loud (we could clearly hear their conversation- though, to be fair, we were in a room with a connecting door)
