The Glengarry has updated their look with new furniture and wallpaper. The modern look really made the hotel look very nice on arrival!

We booked a room with a pool view/ there is NO outdoor pool anymore. Our room was in a secondary block with no elevator access and it was ‘buggy’ The buffet breakfast was ok but the inlet station was staffed with a chef. And on the plate in front of him was a plate for tips. If the omelette station is part of the buffet breakfast there should be no need to tip the chef. It is included in the cost of the room. We tipped our waitress for table service but the service was generally slow. We often stood waiting for a table and there were many tables available and very few people in the dining room. We were asked multiple times for dining coupons although we already gave them to the waitress at the door.

It's a long drive from Toronto to Sydney, Nova Scotia, to pick up the ferry to Newfoundland. One of the places we decided to break our trip for the night was Truro, Nova Scotia. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Best Western Glengarry. The room was large, extremely clean and the king bed was very comfortable. We had both dinner and the included breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, and both were excellent. The restaurant very kindly provded us fresh fruit salads for breakfast, as we both don't eat bacon & eggs. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Nothing ... everything was perfect.

We only spent one night on our tour of Northeast Nova Scotia. Check in was smooth and easy. The attached restaurant, One 50 on Willow, had a limited menu but the service and food were excellent. Try the butter chicken! Our room was spacious and comfortable and clean. What you would expect from a Best Western.

Unfortunately the pool was not available. As a smoker, it is nice to have a comfortable place to go outside for a cigarette. They did have a designated smoking area but it was uncovered and because of rain the seats are all wet.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. A special mention to Kummar and the young lady that works with him, they were particularly friendly.

The menu in the restaurant is quite limited. My wife and I tried the seafood chowder and it was terrible. The amount of seafood was generous enough, but I am sure you could have turned the bowl upside down and it would not fall out, way too thick and had an odd taste. They have a great breakfast that is included with your stay, way above what other hotels offer as a free breakfast.

Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Pool is exceptionally clean and well maintained especially for an older pool. Breakfast was buffet style and had everything you could ask for. Omelet chef was amazing. Nice little lounge there with very friendly laid back staff as well.

The steps going into and out of the pool are the old fashioned railing stairs that you hit your shin on to get up the next one. Anyone with mobility issues would not be able to use. Please upgrade.

The facilities and the free breakfast was amazing! We were there for 4 days 3 nights and it was a perfect stay. We swam every morning and every night (pool is open till 1030pm loved that!)We used every facility pool, hot tub, ice machines, tv, tub and great water pressure on the shower. We were very impressed by the staff and entire stay!

Prices of the food in restaurant should be cheaper for the quality and quantity you receive. The pool needs stairs, the ladders are wobbly and small.

This hotel is amazing! It's seems small but somehow it's bigger than it seems. Pool and hot tub were our favorites'. The restaurant exceed our expectations - food was delicious and presentation of it was really nice - and we ate all over NS. Breakfast simple but great

AC in the back side of the hotel (was this motel?) was a bit noisy. We didn't use it too much, we tried it but figure out it would be too noisy so we just opened the windows. This is the only thing that needs upgrading

From the time we arrived until we left we had exceptional service. Everyone from the front desk, the housekeeping staff and those that worked in the restaurant were friendly, always smiling and very good at there jobs. We were very pleased and I would recommend this hotel with the highest recommendation to anyone. The staff could not do enough for you. Our stay was very enjoyable.

Staff was friendly, the place was absolutely beautiful. The food from the restaurant was delicious and devoured quickly; especially after the workout with the kiddos in the pool ! The room was very spacious and clean we slept very well. Breakfast was complimentary was very delicious and they had a great selection. We will be back!! We will definitely be back !!

It was clean, bright and everything was great. The staff was excellent and courteous. Often at hotels, I have found staff to be condescending or arrogant. Not the case here. The breakfast looked excellent. Cereal, toast, eggs, cereal, hash browns, yogurt juice, milk, coffee, etc. Sadly no bacon. :) There was even a grassy courtyard with picnic tables and seating.

No bacon at breakfast. Lol
