Celebrity Vacation Hot Spots
Updated August 2, 2023Average travelers (i.e. the little people) strive to visit the celebrity playgrounds of Los Angeles or New York. Tourists often come for some type of celebrity interaction. How can you say no to the Price is Right or the Hollywood Walk of Fame? But, celebrities get tired of dealing with the regular folks. The rich and famous must find a way to relax! Let’s check out true luxury vacationing.
South Beach, Miami, Florida
Celebs are not shy when vacationing in South Beach. Gisele, Tom Brady, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, Bono, and pretty much any member of the Kardashian clan are familiar with everything Miami. Youthful celebrities rule the town on their visits, leaving no exclusive club, lounge, restaurant or beach untouched.
World-class hotels like, The Setai rake celebrities into their penthouse for a nominal fee of $30,000 per night. The digs are cleverly placed on the 40th floor, with unlimited views of South Beach. Celebs won’t have to worry about claustrophobia with an interior space of 6,500 square feet and 3,000 square feet of terraces and balconies. Celebrities must create! So to compensate for this, the suite recently opened its own recording studio designed by Lenny Kravitz. Don’t worry Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Timbaland have tested it out for you in case you were worried.
After celebs have ample winding down time, they are free to get rowdy at one Miami’s top clubs like, Mansion Nightclub. Whether it’s Diddy controlling the premises or Lindsey Lohan prancing around the dance floor, this club is always packed with the beautiful people. The key words for entry are dress to impress.
Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusettes
For those who need to get away from the grind of the Hollywood life, Martha’s Vineyard is a place of respite. This is a small island located south of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Celebs wander freely without the big hoopla, and why wouldn’t they when they are everywhere! This is an area often visited during the summer months and visited by stars like Oprah Winfrey, Paul McCartney, Woody Harrelson, Reese Witherspoon and even the Obama family grace the sandy beaches of this superstar destination.
Vacationing like a celebrity does not necessarily mean getting wild in the hottest nightclubs, it can also mean getting away from it all. A more peaceful and quiet place than the Vineyard is hard to find. Long time residents rarely lock door and visitors are expected to follow island customs such as paying on the honor system for flowers or produce at unmanned roadside stands.
Bora Bora, French Polynesia
The French Polynesian island of Bora Bora has never been hotter for celebs looking to vacation Pacific side. Perhaps they feel the protection of the surrounding lagoon and barrier reef. The famous come by the boatload: Hayden Panettiere, Audrina Patridge, Eva Longoria, Tony Parker, and lets not forget Paris Hilton are all visitors of this island haven.
St. Regis Resort is a popular choice amongst celebs that love a private Jacuzzi, personal butler and a plush villa that has direct access to the crystal clear water. This resort proves to be an intimate experience with only 40 bungalows available for about $1,200 per night. Glass floor lagoon-viewing panels certainly help relax the cost of this necessary relaxing tool. The views are so picturesque that the resort was most recently used in the filming of the comedy “Couples Retreat.”
Bloody Mary’s Restaurant will soon proudly be displayed on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Proving their expert vacationing skills to their audience once again. You win girls; you totally got us. Mere mortals and hopeful travelers can only dream of eating fish caught only a few hours prior to reaching our lips. This restaurant only described as an authentic Tahitian dining experience has pulled celebrities to its doors since the 1970’s with it’s sandy floors and coconut furniture.
Whistler, British Columbia, Canada
Beaches and warm waters are not everyone’s cup of tea, so the snowy Mountains of Canada call to celebs. Tom Cruise, Heidi Klum, Seal, Justin Timberlake, and Queen Latifah have all been spotted out and about the Coast Mountain Range. Whistler was home to the 2010 Winter Olympics, and for good reason. Eight thousand acres of playable terrain offer adrenaline junkies: tubing, snowboarding, skiing, sleigh rides, zipline tours and even heli-skiing/snowboarding (yes, this involves a helicopter). There is even more for those who want to enjoy the scenery without becoming part of a tempting visit to the Scandinave spa.
Celebs like Hugh Jackman and Eric Bana have been spotted at the lavishness Four Seasons Hotel. Just a few minutes walk away from the hotel rests Blackcomb Mountain, for a celeb’s snowy pleasure. They then can come back to their “private residences” for a warm fire to look out over their mountain views. Another wonderful factor about staying in more than comfortable hotel is its closeness to Whistlers upper village, where the arts and nightlife are always a highlight. There are festivals year round, like the Whistler Film Festival, and celebs can celebrate with other vacationers and residents alike.
It is tough business being a celebrity, and they simply must relax in the style they’ve become accustomed. We know this, expect it, and relish in their good fortune (or bad)- this is why they are famous. The truth is you probably won’t be able to afford $30,000 per night hotels or your own private hut in Bora Bora, but that does not mean you can’t live vicariously through a celebrity lifestyle. You absolutely can. Keep dreaming that Hugh Jackman is holding your hand by the fireplace or Jessica Alba is rubbing sunscreen on your shoulders. Keep dreaming of the impossible, but then keep planning for the average but wonderful vacations each of us need.
