The pluses are very very friendly and helpful staff (including with a problem that I had with an external laundromat); luggage storage while we went off to Easter Island; the historic building with lots of character; and good central location. It is also quite good value for money whereas we found Chile to be unexpectedly expensive. A positive stay overall but with a bit of TLC for the room and furnishings, and an overhaul of the breakfast, and this would be a stellar place!

Fine location; pleasant patio; helpful staff; comfortable room; adequate breakfast; this property is nicely in walking distance of tourist attractions in both directions; the civic center and pre-Colombian museum eastbound and the remembrance museum westbound. So location was just fine, service from staff was quite suburb, room clean and comfortable, and food available on property. So what else is important? My favorite was an enclosed courtyard that really only hotel guests knew was available. That patio/courtyard made for a pleasant breakfast and evening cocktail refuge. Few used its pleasant ambiance, so it seemed a secret garden.

So in that secret garden, like the rest of Chile, it seemed like the effort to come out of the Covid restrictions, in February 2023, were underway but not complete. The restaurant closed earlier than my needs; sometimes I had to go back out onto the street to find and enjoy a dessert and pisco sour. No big deal; its all out there; it just would have been nice and easier if their cafe/bar was open longer.

The hotel is very beautiful and have lots of history. The room is HUGE and they provide you with a GREAT fan if it’s hot (trust me, I hate sleeping when is hot but the fan is great). They also have a heater for the colder months. Staff is super friendly and the location is right on the center do you can walk around everything! Hotel is about a 15min drive from the airport. Hotel offers a fridge near the reception in case you need to store something there! We had to leave earlier due to my fiancés health and the hotel was extremely helpful and gave us a partial refund back! When we are back in Santiago, we will 100% be back!

Everything about Casa Zañartu was fantastic. It is wonderfully located within a few blocks of the Plaza de Armas and has lots of very good restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff were phenomenal, answering our questions, calling a cab and waiting with us until it arrived. There is an on-premises cafe that serves an excellent continental breakfast (later in the day they have delicious looking pastries) with a very friendly staff. The hotel itself is a marvelously repurposed mansion of a family deeply entwined in Chilean history. Why would you want to stay anywhere else? (We’ll be back at the end of our trip!)

A lovely small hotel in the heart of Santiago, we walked everywhere - even to the Costanera Center. Close to the airport bus too. The staff were friendly and always available.

The courtyard music could be heard in our room but we asked if it could be turned down and it was - for the whole time without us having to ask again. Butter and jam isn't automatically provided with toast at breakfast, but again, we asked and it was provided.

The staff was lovely. The street was quiet. The restored historic mansion was a quirky blend of old and new. Very comfortable.

The large room needed at least one more bedside lamp or floor lamp. The overhead lights were extremely bright and unpleasant. Breakfast is not served until 8 AM -- it would have been really nice to at least have had a coffee station available at 7 for those of us leaving on an early tour or flight.

This place is cool. The vibe is good, breakfast is good, the value for money was great, the wifi was good, and the staff was good. We had an early tour to the Andes, and the front desk guy threw together a small breakfast to-go for each of us before the breakfast hour. The bed was gigantic and comfortable.

The room wasn't very big, and the bed was very big, so there wasn't too much space in the room. That said, there's plenty of space around the hotel.

It is a historic, beautiful building with a lovely terrace in the middle. the staff was friendly and there’s always someone at the front desk. it’s very close to many sights like the Plaza de Armas and the museo. It was very comfortable.

it’s in the center of town which is not the most restful or pretty part of Santiago. it’s very good for being a tourist, though. If you have kids or sleep lightly you will probably want to make sure to be on the second floor because people stay up late drinking on the patio which is right next to the first floor rooms.

Miguel Angel on reception was excellent. He went above and beyond to help sort out a car hire issue we had. He was also helpful when advising on places to go and things to see… And the location was excellent.

it was a lovely old boutique hotel and because of this some people might think the fixtures and fittings were old. But it was serviceable.
