This Holiday Inn Express is located in Putuo, Shanghai which is in a quiet suburb of the City. The property was tired and the rooms needed TLC but it was cleaned well by the lady who carried out the task of room servlsing. I can't winge about the poor physical condition because the team of staff over compensated that by simply doing a fine jobs working in the tough Hospitality Industry. Usually the impression guests would get from checking-in is an emotionless greeting and they would be expected to fend for themselves with regards to getting any sort of an experience from their stay. Then there were Lilie and Jack at the front desk of this particular property. They simply went the extra mile to ensure that we were OK. It's unusual and I figured this needed highlighting. Maybe they were the typical examples of the changing attitudes within the industry or that I was just lucky to have them around helping to make our stay pleasant by being helpful. This attitude should be more common in this industry. Too bad that it isn't. Nice 5 star stay.

Early check in and late check out. Bed was comfortable.

Air conditionaire didnt work. WIFI doesnt work at all.

It was a very good place to stay, walking distance from the subway. The breakfast was also a great life saver, usually very good and also very good in quantity. The staff doesn't speak english but they do their best to help out.

The staff not speaking english was a slight problem but they tried to help out as much as they can, so at the end it wasn't such a big inconvenience. Also had some noisy neighbor but it isn't the hotel's fault.

The staff are very friendly. They are helpful beyond their prescribed obligations, especially Mr. Jiang, the young staff at the front counter, as well as the manager on duty whom I didn't capture his last name. They provide professional responses to my needs and questions that are as good as the my previous stay at the five star hotel in HK.

Located by the river, and it’s not by the Main Street, so it has relatively fresher air quality and good for taking a walk around. It’s also within an acceptable walking distance to subway

The room itself looks a little not as well maintained. There are dents on the walls and the mirrors.

The staff was very kind and helpful especially Lucy , Boby and Tony . The location was good . The room was very clean .

The breakfast was not so good . The restaurant was closed for upgrading . I had to take breakfast to my room .

Everyone was super friendly, especially staff member Yuki was super kind and helpful. my friend had left her charger in the room and Yuki helped me ship it to her!

The location is very good!!! A very good price for such hotel in Shanghai. The staff (Morgan) is also helpful

Some of the room are having cigarette smell even though they’re non-smoking rooms.

The breakfast was good. very near to Metro station. only 5 minutes walk . the staff was so good. they help us to find anything we wanted.

It is a remote place , no restaurants of shops near by.

the coffee taste very good. tv program was so so. but the staff attitudes great.

the room safe battery went flat in the second night of my stay....not anybody fault i guessed ...perhaps need a more frequent maintenance of the equipment
