Our stay at Kawa was a delightful experience. The host was truly amazing - very attentive and flexible, ensuring a comfortable stay. The rooms were spacious and offered unrivalled and incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Additionally, the hotel's location was perfect, just a short 10-minute walk to Salento, making it convenient to explore the town. The breakfast choices were also delicious and varied.

The only minor downside was the lack of air conditioning or a fan in the rooms, which could be a bit uncomfortable during warmer days. Despite this, I would highly recommend the hotel for its outstanding hospitality, scenic views, and convenient location for an enjoyable stay in Salento.

This hotel was the best one we stayed at during our trip to Colombia!!! Everything was simply amazing! I can only confirm what the other positive reviews are saying. The staff is great, everything was very well organized. The breakfast is excellent and you can choose from various options, you can use the jacuzzi for one hour per day, there are great options for some tours in the area and it is very close to Salento town with the private path they have and yet quiet and peaceful. And the view is just breathtaking! The food in the restaurant is outstanding! I can only thank you for the great time we had and I would definitely come back if I come to Colombia!

In some ways this is the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at, with vistas and cabinas that will truly take your breath away. The hotel staff is not only friendly but also committed to accommodating the desires of each traveler. Yuliana, who has connections with countless tours and excursions in the area, set us up for two consecutive days of riding with her own personal horses! She paired us with a local guide named Dilbert who was probably the most skilled horseman and trail riding instructor I’ve ever worked with. The worst part of the trip by far was leaving!

Everything about booking, checkin in, the stay, the service and the checkout was exceptional! They helped us organise a taxi from the airport, sorted out all our day trips. We booked two different rooms for different parts of our stay and they moved all our luggage between rooms while we were out on day trips! The breakfast and food in general was incredible! NOT TO MENTION THE STUNNING VIEWS! Best hotel We've ever been in.

Honestly I can't say any bad things about this place or the service. There is literally no bad remarks, it exceeded our expectations. Only incredible experiences that I'll treasure for ever. We will be back for sure!

Exceptional stay with outstanding service! We had an amazing two night stay at Kawa Retreat: The most impressive point was the very personal, warm, highly attentive and professional service - special thank you to Eduardo and Jorge who even organized an incredible birthday breakfast and dinner and were incredibly friendly and helpful! The views from Kawa into the valley are incredibly beautiful, our room at Kawa was spacious and clean, the outside areas are wonderful with lush green gardens, a sauna, a jacuzzi; the area is really quiet and relaxing, and the drinks and food are delicious and of fine-dining quality! A BIG THANK YOU to the whole Kawa team! Muchisimas gracias y hasta pronto!

The room was beautiful with A fantastic view. Bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom very clean and nice, going out to the bath outside which was very cosy at night(our particular room had a bath outside) The food at the hotel was at the pricier side particularly for colombian standards, Albeit very delicious and i would recommend. Breakfast was incredible as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I suggest getting a massage while there.

There was sufficient food on the dinner plats but I would love to have more of it because it was so tasty, especially for the price.

The staff is incredible, they go above and beyond for their guests. The views are absolutely beautiful and calming. The food was excellent, and the tours were exceptional. There’s a tea kettle in the room so you can make tea or coffee anytime and they provide filtered water. I highly recommend the therapeutic massage, Claudia is very knowledgeable and is excellent at her job.

The only thing we disliked was that our room was right next to reception so it was very loud, you can hear everything so it was tough to sleep. Nonetheless, the beds were very comfortable so it was easy to fall back asleep. It can also get really cold so just be prepared for that (though they provide really thick blankets).

The design of the room and the attention to detail; the common areas where breakfast was served had an incredible view over the valley, very impressive; very good breakfast with rich buffet and excellent a la carte choice!

The wifi in the room didn't work well; the room was a 'luxury bangalow' with a open bathroom overlooking the valley but the door between the bathroom and the room did not close properly so it was cold; hot water from the shower was scarce; the entrance to the hotel from the city of Salento badly maintained.

The hotel is located up a steep, rocky road from town on a lush, mountainside site with beautiful views overlooking the Cocora Valley. The hotel is directly connected to a walking path that provides an easy 5-10 minute walk into town. The staff is all exceedingly nice and very accommodating. The food - from the inclusive breakfast to the several dinner options were all very good. We enjoyed our dinner at the hotel better than the one we had one night at a highly recommended restaurant in town. Each night, we enjoyed cocktails and a glass a wine in front of the cozy fire that was lit in the large lobby fireplace. The room was well appointed and the private balcony with views of the surrounding valley and mountains was a great place to enjoy your morning coffee.

Our only complaint from our two night stay was the fact that the bathroom light switch was placed inside the shower enclosure. Coming from the United States, this placement seemed like an electrocution waiting to happen, and would have never passed code inspections!

Unbelievably beautiful location. The rooms feel so special and the balcony with hammock overlooking the valley is just stunning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is set a little outside the town which means you can appreciate the beauty of the surrounding environment. There is a short path which easily takes you to Salento centre. Overall a real special hotel. Felt luxurious whilst also authentic and a rustic retreat.

Whist the path from the hotel to the town is short, it is not lit so the walk back at night is very very dark and feels quite isolated.
