Nice looking hotel, nice eating/drinks terrace..big room, cool, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Restaurant attached, pub, lake and local shop within short walking distance.

The swimming pool was unuseable in sunny weather - under plastic roof it was over 50 degrees. Water looked hot and stagnent. No sign of table tennis or billiards or any other facilities. The shower in our room was a shower head a couple of feet long over a bath - had to kneel in bath as no shower screen or curtain. One pub, one shop in village, cash only. Nearest cash machine/ ATM is 30 miles away but pub took euros and gave czech in change. The nearby "lakes" are more like ponds, small with dark brown water, no walking paths around them. Very little to do at night except the hotel, one pub..or the kids playing field with beer kiosk and bouncy castles, which was nice enough.

This hotel is in the middle of the Check wilderness :) Very beautiful sorrounding with hills and nice neat villages. The hotel is indeed "rustikal" but clean and the breakfast was exceptional. And we had a nice dinner too. The room was clean but the toilette is very small, and the shower could use a wider curtain and a new tap. But otherwise all was okay.

If I really have to mention something, I didnt like the music in the restaurant. But that is something you can avoid if you sit outside.

Spacious, airy rooms and restaurant. Tastefully furnished with attention to small details while not being pretentious. I guess a lot of local craftsmanship went into this hotel. I would happily recommend this.

Management did not really care for us as guests, no-one on reception at check in time, only a note saying they are in the restaurant (three customers and four staff in restaurant). Our booking did not exist in their system and they did not believe we even had a booking. bathroom had black mould everywhere and the toilet was repaired with a new pipe which moved it off the wall by about 6 inches so you could not even sit on the toilet. You can order wine by the glass except no for dry white wine. you have to buy a bottle if you want dry wine. told the waitress but she just walked off. Staff are uninterested, probably because there are three who work breakfast lunch and dinner, but definitely the poor attitude comes from the top. Was marked as a four star, now a three star. I would rate a 2star at best. 500KC deposit for what exactly? we had to wait for 30 mins for someone to come back to reception to return it when checking out. also staff not informed about the swimming pool. said it was closed other said it was open. need to walk up a steep hill with many steps, or for disabled or old people.
