The place is located right in front of the malecón (waterfront promenade) and it was pleasant and convenient to stroll to some of the sites around the city. The hotel is undergoing renovations (so not sure if this will apply later) but although the finishes and furniture are a bit dated, the high ceilings, large bathroom, and other cool features make the place feel like perhaps it used to be a colonial mansion. I would stay here again.

One of the guys on the staff played video games on his phone with the volume up, so I could hear his game progress in my room. The ongoing renovations/ construction of course made some noise. They also made the common areas pretty much unusable (which was one of the reasons I booked the place). I’m happy for them that they are able to upgrade the hotel, but wish they had mentioned that renovations would be taking place before I arrived.

Amazing location right across the Malecón, and only ~10min uber drive from the airport (uber cost ~$4.50). The twin bed room was very spacious and comfortable, we had a room with windows facing the street but no noise ever bothered us, not even on a Saturday night. The AC worked great. The bathroom was large and had shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. We loved the restaurant and the choice of vegetarian meals. Three course lunch (with vegetarian options) for only $5 (breakfast is included) and really good dinner options too, we basically mainly ate at the hotel. We also did laundry for $5, it was ready in a few hours. There is a "library" room with a comfy chair where you can borrow/leave books to read, and the staff can recommend activities and attractions too (we walked the Malecón many times, visited local museums (MAAC, miniatura, cacao), went on the Aerovía, climbed the Faro of the St Ana hill a few times, took a double decker tour of the city when we walked to see the iguana park (only a few minutes from the hotel). They encourage guests to leave Aerovía cards so that other guests don't need to buy new ones, we left ours there on our last day. The internet was a bit spotty, the best place to connect was actually right outside our room, but there was an awesome sofa and a table facing outside, so that's where we hung out when we wanted to have fast internet. No elevator so we had to carry our suitcases to the second floor but that didn't bother us. We actually stayed there again on our way back from the Galapagos, and I would definitely stay there in the future. We stayed 5 nights in total and felt very safe.

I enjoyed my time at Manso. The room was clean and comfortable. It’s an older building but with a lot of character. The Malecón is literally across the street. The breakfast was simple but good.

I scheduled a taxi pickup, but my driver never showed up. If the driver doesn’t show, they told me to go to info to call but nobody picked up. The service wasn’t great. I had an interior room and it was still a bit noisy (but it was a weekend). As a solo travel, I didn’t venture out alone a lot. The hostel felt safe and was a great place to read my book and relax.

The location was great, just close to an entrance to malecon. So pretty safe as well ! The environment is quite chill and the staff very nice! Had a great veggie lunch for 5 dollars with desert and soup included. The breakfast has fresh fruit too! If you are veggie, at night I recommend the restaurant menestras del negro, 1 min walking from the hostel and ask for combinado de pollo without pollo. They will give you a giant plate with lentils, egg, avocado, rice, fries and ensalada for less than 5dollars.

Great location, professional staff, lots of cute artistic details to enjoy. The Ginger Room was spacious with a large, comfortable bed. Situated towards the street so a bit noisy at times, but slept fine with earplugs. Nice hot shower and one of the awesome air-con that doesn’t freeze your butt off.

Breakfast was rudimentary; would have appreciated a bit more varied fruit salad. But enough to get your day started, and great coffee.

Location. it’s boho chic Wes Anderson-like digs. community centric. breakfast was adequate & sufficient. Staff very helpful.

I was in Mandarina Room. Even with all 3 lights on, it was dark. Need brighter lighting. Also, be extremely careful in the shower: it is not slip proof. And, if you make a wrong move in the bathroom or even slip a tad bit, the submerged shower area can cause you to fall from bring off-balance. Revised breakfast time is only one hour: 8:30-9:30. In room it states because of COVID restrictions, but no one is wearing a mask at all any time so why not revert back to the prolonged breakfast schedule? They selectively answer WgstsAp inquiries about conflicting printed cancellation info.

The building is old, but comfortable and clean, with good location and fresh breakfast. But the best of this place are the people working there. I had an accident with my eye and the girls helped me a lot, especially Andy, she helped me to the emergency and even made an appointment the next day so that I could see a doctor and travel back home in peace. Andy, many thanks one more time! It's was really important had your support while facing this situation in another country :)

Great location near the Malecon and still close enough to the airport/bus terminal. The budget double room is large and comes with AC. Our private bathroom was clean, although the shower head gets a bit temperamental. Bonus - wifi is super fast. They offer lunch and dinner, which we both got to try and they were delicious and reasonably priced. The hostel may be a bit dated but it’s hard to fault at this price range, so if you are not picky this is the place for you.

- fantastic location - single beds (not bunk beds) :) - small breakfast included - free coffee

- I was there on a weekend and they barely offer anything on weekends (no meals beside breakfast, no drink deals, … ) just during the week - they had clases for locals in the hostel eating area so we (hostel guests) had to leave that area for them - no kitchen for guests to use
