Almost a perfect hotel. It was a beautifully converted building in a fantastically beautiful location adjacent to the river. The area round the hotel was spacious and quiet when we visited in late August. Lots of young students about to enliven the parks and streets around the hotel. The hotel interior was uplifted by the presence of modern art hanging on the walls. Free parking. A short walk to the town centre. Good breakfast.

No fridge in the room to keep milk for our coffee but reception provided us with a small jug of milk when requested. We were not impressed by the dinner we had in the restaurant. We should have taken the trouble to find somewhere to eat in town.

Overall I had a good stay. I chose the hotel because the conference was hosted there. Good facilities for conferences. The food was ok but the lunch was not particularly exciting. Very comfortable bed. The staff was very kind. It is very close to a nice park and walking distance to the city. Bus number 9 (to and from the airport) stops 1 minute walking from the hotel.

The lunch was not particularly exciting. The room was a bit cold at night (even though it was summer), perhaps because the heating was off.

Very nice repurposed building in a quiet, pleasant park location. The building has been thoughtfully laid out and well decorated with original art. Friendly helpful staff. Decent size rooms with lift access to floors. In room drink making facilities. Very comfortable beds and like Finland generally very peaceful. Decent buffet breakfast with a reasonable selection for vegans, as always there could be a better vegan selection which would also appeal to none vegan guests.

Only stayed for one night, no obvious negative points. A greater vegan suitable selection on the breakfast buffet would be nice though.

The most helpful staff out of all Oulu hotels. They seem like they sincerely wish to help you, not just cold polite smiling like in other Oulu hotels. They always do their best to help.

Too small bathroom. Walking distance to downtown. This is not however a problem with a good weather. Breakfast is a bit poorer compared to other Oulu hotels, but good anyway.

Surrounded by peaceful, historic garden/yard, hotel room gave a quiet, extreme comfortable place for us to sooth in a hot summer day. Probably the most beautiful hotel window view in Oulu when there are river, green trees and lovely jogging path underneath. Fresh ingrediencies and tasty breakfast indeed! I specially want to give a big thank you to all staff members. Their happy smiles and warm hospitality made our stay more joyful!

We enjoyed the location, surroundings, staff was very nice and welcoming. Food at the restaurant was also very tasty (we ate for breakfast and dinner).

The blackout curtains in our room didn't cover the window well enough (too short) and the morning light worsened our sleep a bit.

Lasaretti is a very nice place, but some distance from the city centre. However, it is a nice walk to town. The restaurant didn't offer that much for vegetarians, so we decided to have dinner somewhere else.

Getting to the rooms in the other building with bags was not very easy.

Reception is 24/7. Parking was super easy and free. Breakfast included was nice. Staff very helpful and room was nice and clean. Overall the experience was excellent.

Everything was good about this place.

- The bathroom's shower area had a sliding door and a recess that together blocked water from getting to the restroom floor - The view towards the river was really nice and the hotel was located at a green part of the city with parks around it - The WiFi was fast and reliable - The TV was a big and new LG smart TV - There was a small table and two electric sockets right next to the bed, great for charging the phone - It was really silent during the night - Tietomaa and the art museum were only about five minutes of walking away - The room had a bottle opener on the wall in case somebody might find a need for such - The restaurant was great in terms of service, food quality and food and drink options

I wished the room would have had one master switch next to the bed for turning off all the lights at once. To be fair, few places have such so this is more of a wish than a proper negative thing that I experienced.

The hotel was extremely clean and as decorated as expected. Nice bonus for the place was that there were no carpets in the rooms. The matress was very comfortable, I slept very well. I did not hear anything from the corridor or the other rooms. All in all a very great experience and would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Just the big thick pillows were too chunky for me. Otherwise everything was perfect.
