The house is very nice, and has everything you need. The beds are very good, and the furniture is very nice. In the kitchen you have everything you need, including detergent for the dishwasher, which is very good. You need nothing to buy. The sauna was perfect when comimg back from outside with minus 18 degrees :-) There is also a stove for wood that produces a pleasant warmth.

The only thing which was not so good, we stayed 3 nights, and there was only fire wood for one night. The additional firewood for the 2 other nights, we had to pay for :-(

Excellent location, fantastic views, zoo, comfortable house with sauna and a lot of winter fun!

Our cottage was not soundproof at all. Internet quality in the cottage was very poor. We are a bit disappointed by the staff. It's not our first stay, and they were always really perfect. This time nothing a bit extra was not possible. Also we received contradictory answers to the same questions. We hope so much that it happened because of the holidays period, and next time will be better

We are a family of 6 and we stayed 30/12-3/1. Beautiful location. Lovely, warm lodge. Plenty of room for 6 of us. A drying room. A sauna. A wood burner. 2 bathrooms. Breakfast was ok. The activities were amazing. The trip was a surprise Christmas present to our children and it surpassed expectations. We went on the guided trip by Finnhorse searching for the Northern lights. We went for Husky rides and reindeer rides. We also went on a tour to Honkivaara where we sled down a huge hill numerous times and our lovely guide made a fire and hot drinks. The zoo is right there too and wonderful. *Worth noting is that you can get the bus (comfortable coach) right there instead of an expensive transfer. It goes from the bus station in Rovaniemi, stops in Rovaniemi centre and pulls into the Holliday Village for a fraction of the price. We booked in advance (and back again) all very easy and smooth. We stayed one night in Rovaniemi and it left from opposite our hotel.

Just make sure you take plenty of tea/coffee anything you want to eat or drink. There aren’t any sachets you may get in a hotel or b&b. The supermarket prices are unreal too. We were given 4 toilet rolls between 6 of us for 4 days.

Breakfast was ok what you normally get when going abroad. The lodges are lovely and warm with a beautiful sauna and log fire. There is a terrace at the rear looking into the forest lovely to sit out and relax. The guides were very friendly and helpful.

look into details about the excursions as the ones that we went on were not worth it. Reindeer farm was good going to see the polar bears didnt happen as sadly one had died sio the took us at 8am to see the Dohe which are similar to red foxes, waste of time. seeing santa forget it, so poor it spoilt our highlight of the holiday.

The breakfast is very good, and there is a choice of different type of food. Houses are very cosy and clean, there are two bathrooms. The house is super comfortable for four people. Additional persons would sleep in the attic which has less space and less privacy. In the stairs (upstairs and downstairs) protection gates for children. Kitchen very well equipped. Linen is new and of good quality. Comfortable beds. There is a small pharmacy in the reception :) Guests can visit the polar ZOO every day at the same ticket :)

We wanted to visit Ranua wildlife park to see Finnish animals and found it very easy to book an overnight stay in Villa Gulo Gulo. This included a free buffet breakfast as well as access to the wildlife park for 2 consecutive days for the price of one. We went on the afternoon on day of arrival and again the next morning, and saw all the animals over the two days. We stayed in Ahma which was perfect for a family of 5, and had excellent facilities, including a nice sauna, wood-fired heater and particularly nice lighting. We also booked an experience via Villa Gulo Gulo and went on an Aurora hunt by snowmobile at night. The warm clothing provided is a must as the temperatures are well below freezing and the wind chill factor is significant. Our Spanish tour guide was friendly and informative and we enjoyed hot Glögi and toasted marshmallows by a fire in the wilderness. Seeing the snow-laden trees at night was a special experience and this tour exceeded our expectations, even though we did not see the Aurora on the tour (due to cloudy weather). We would highly recommend staying at Villa Gulo Gulo with a family.

Everything was great!

The accommodation was perfect for our family, plenty of space, amazing drying cupboard for damp clothes, beautiful scenery. The zoo on the resort was fantastic and having so many activities available from the resort was great. All trips were organised really well and the 3 we chose were all fabulous (husky ride, searching for Santa and snowmobile visit to a reindeer farm). All the staff were really helpful too, thank you Gulo Gulo!

There was a very good selection of hot and cold food to choose from, with no restrictions to the amount you ate, the staff were very friendly and helpful in all areas The location of our lodge was brilliant with a lovely woodland view to the back, it was clean and cosy.

It would have been useful to have has some more basic kitchen equipment available as it was difficult to prepare meals. A grater and a sieve would have made a huge difference but we managed
