A decent hotel in the perfect location to explore Auxerre. Easy parking. Lots of restaurants nearby. Clean and comfortable bed,Delightful staff couldn’t do enough to help.

For a 4 star hotel the bathroom was very tired with a rubbish shower, bad lighting and in general need of a refit.

The location of the hotel was excellent - right beside the river. Great sight seeing at the door. Our receptionist was extremely helpful, eg recommending a local restaurant - Le Maison Fort which was lovely with great food- as well as a few other small things. We were able to store our bags for a few hours before departure.

We weren’t able to connect to wifi in our room, although it was fine in the lounge. I’m sure they’re fixing this as I write.

The room was lovely……Location was perfect, but more than anything was the extraordinary staff! I have a special thank you thank you message for AGATHE.  my grandson and I chose to stay at this hotel in this time, particularly to see a football game and she went to extraordinary means to get us the best possible tickets and she did it with both patience and grace! 

There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like about the property it was 100% perfect!

Liked the room "overlooking" the river (trees mainly blocked the full view but still nice to look at). Old fashioned decor but pretty well maintained basic rooms. The breakfast buffet was good quality and the hotel staff were very amenable and accommodating. Good location in the old town and close to all the sites of interest.

More variety and interesting options for the breakfast bar. Best Western never seems to offer in-room safes and that's an important feature in travel, especially for tourists. Also no fitness center. Reception attempted to give us a lower category room upon check-in but rectified the switch when we pointed it out.

Lovely site by river and excellent secure parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No dinner available in the hotel but there are good restaurants very close by which the staff offered to book for us.

If using secure parking a warning not to miss entrance would be helpful as it's on a one way road and you have to find your way around the road system to get back! This road was busy on arrival but quiet overnight.

Hotel is nice located close to the river. 10 min walk t the centre. Room clean and spacious. Very nice spacious bathroom. Breakfast very good and served at 07.00 so you can get away quickly in the morning.

Wifi not very strong, you have to sit in the reception to use it. Parking area very narrow and you are dependent on others leaving if you want to get out first in the morning.

Lovely room overlooking the river - however, I THINK Auxerre must have been playing football on Friday night as up until arouind 2.30am there were motorbikes roaring past, cars hooting their horns and a lot of crashing doors and people talking and laughing even in the hotel. Our friend with a room at the back slept like a log, though, so there are disadvantages to being at the front - and the windows are double glazed and were shut! Perfect location and really lovely staff, from the housekeeping staff right through to reception and management.

Breakfast is very expensive - so we went to the local cafe instead. Shame.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The premises inside were clean and well maintained. The outside can do with a little brush up, however overall I would highly recommend the hotel and a trip to Auxerre.

The shower was tricky. Hard to keep the floor dry and have a decent shower.

Location and style

Poor attention to detail for the breakfast buffet. Had to request plates to serve boiled eggs on. Not enough water to boil eggs in. Had to request more. Poor amount of other food though the breakfast buffet was still going. Telephone in room did not work.

Location is nice, situated right on the river and in the central part of this historic town. The staff is very friendly and available. The breakfast is very nice.

The room was a bit stuffy and carpet was a bit damp. River view room is not worth the extra expense as there are trees that block the river view.
