Amazing location situated lakeside with private car park with direct access to Bar/Hotel and Lake. Hospitality and food was superb and the location is an excellent base to explore the area. Beautiful walk around the lake took 45mins, perfect to stretch your legs at the start or end of the day. Bessines town has a wonderful patisserie, bar and small shop. Large Intermarche and Aldi to top up with supplies. We are booking our stay here again very soon and would not hesitate to recommend to others either as a stop over or longer break. Glynn, Paula and Lewis were amazing hosts full of knowledge and information. The food was excellent and we sampled most things on the menu, couldn't fault it in any way. The Menu du Jour is excellent value. The photo is of the lake at 7:30am on the day of our departure, taken from the Bar car park.

Warm friendly welcome from the owners, good evening meal and wide selection of beers. Basic but tasty breakfast. Spacious room with an excellent shower and views of the lake.

The bed was a little too soft for me but this is a personal preference.

Staff, private parking, good bar with plenty of beers, good room, everything tudy and authentic

Breakfast should be more varied because with jam or with butter it would be cool to get more ad ons on the bread like cheese or some 🥓

Once again, a great stay. Breakfast in the dining room was excellent, with views in the sunshine over the lake. Hospitality from English owners makes this a good stop off point near the motorway whilst travelling through France.

overlooking a lake, pleasant walking by the lake. A very pleasant place to stay on the way to Bagneres du Luchon in the Pyrenees. Useful stop if you were travelling to Spain through the Pyrenees via Vielha

Ideal stopover for our trip through France to Spain from UK. A great welcome, providing a meal and choice beers for our late arrival. Nice room overlooking the lake. A good breakfast.

We returned for an overnight stop on the way back up to Calais. As usual a friendly welcome from English owners with a good meal and a couple of cold beers.

The welcome was very friendly and our hosts could not have been nicer. The food was superb and the prices were unbelievable for France. And (being from Yorkshire) our hosts knew exactly how to brew tea - quite exceptional in France!

The "No entry" sign for access to the car park was very confusing.

Great stay at Bar Le Lac, Family run establishment that can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The hospitality is second to none. Food was great and room was excellent.
