Lovely 16th century home that makes for an intimate just welcoming stay. The location allows easy walking access to the entire village. Parking was secure. Our room was very comfortable with a huge, updated bathroom. Breakfasts were delicious and served with panache. Frederick, the owner, was a huge help to us, whether allowing us to use his things for an impromptu picnic dinner or winery visit or dinner reservations. Would love to return.

Nothing but raves from us.

This hotel was sooooooo nice. Fredrick was very kind to us and had our lovely breakfast ready each morning. He ordered a taxi for us back to the train station too which was very helpful. The bed was the best of the trip! The entry could be confusing but we had a local help us out. Definitely stay here if you can!!

Second visit to this lovely collection of houses that have been converted into one hotel. Located right in the center of the village in a narrow street so no problem with car noise. Garage parking is available (access vie the main road) so no problem with having to leave the car elsewhere. Staff/owners were really friendly and informative and very helpful with offers to book dinner reservations etc. Breakfast was good with lots of things available.

Our room overlook the inner courtyard where breakfast was served, so some noise in the morning of other guests chatting over breakfast. Not a problem but something to be aware of and other rooms that overlook the street are available.

The building is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and well-appointed. The proprietor is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Secure parking. There is an excellent breakfast - if only they still had a restaurant for the evening. This is just about my favourite hotel in the world.

Having to leave.

Very old and historic building. Room was a bit dated but comfortable and clean. The owner and his son were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and they had set a log fire in the huge fireplace to heat the very large old restaurant and we chatted to the owner for a long while over breakfast, Car was parked in the huge garage overnight. The owner recommended a local restaurant which was really good and full even though it was a Tuesday evening in early March.

Nothing in particular

I could not say enough good things about this hotel. The owner/manager, Frederick, was absolutely the best. He helped us enormously with car parking, etc. The facility is like a fairy book with Romeo and Juliet balconies and all, with an inner courtyard which is right out of the 17th century or earlier. We were there only 1 night but we wish we could have spent many days there. We plan to go back one day. The room was perfect overlooking the courtyard with a terrific bed and lots of space in the room. I recommend this hotel very highly for anyone with a sense of history. It is also close to Carcassone which in itself has great history. The village of Caunes-Minervois is charming with good restaurants nearby.

We had hoped to be able to have an evening meal. This was not possible as the restaurant was closed 4 years ago.

Great reception, Charles explained the history, parking, booked us an evening meal at a restaurant. Frederic in morning provided further insight into the ancient family ownership. Our suite was very spacious, decor had been carried out with great detail. Comfortable bed, enjoyable experience.

Fredric and his son are extraordinary hosts. In addition, this property was perfect for those who wish to experience true France in a small village.
