All of our wedding stayed in Lou Calen during our wedding at Chateau Robernier. We stayed there a few nights after. The rooms are spacious - especially the top level rooms in the small turret and the cave bedroom and shower. The pool area is wonderful and the location is superb. The water bottles and room amenities are also great and the staff are courteous when you can find them.

Considering the cost the breakfast we still find very poor. We stayed in 4 places in the 14 days we were in France and Lou Calen breakfast was by far the worst. For a hotel of this price point and breakfast cost they really need to start offering hot items and a kitchen to cook eggs or meat as guests request. To have a basic continental breakfast and some microwave scramble eggs isn't ideal.

When we came everything was very clean. We stayed a week and in this week they made the bed and changed the towels every day, but they didn't clean the bathroom every day!! And this is their policy! We didn't like it. And the staff told us that next year the guests have to pay extra for this cleaning! That's not my opinion about sleeping in a hotel.

The place and staff were amazing. The place is unbelievable, especially if you have any interest in regenerative agriculture or permaculture. The lady on the desk was unbelievably helpful and the other staff too, super professional, super friendly, and super good at their jobs. Room was like a little flat, clean, big comfy and modern bed and room and shower and room. A bit pricey but would strongly recommend

This place is a gem, swimming pools ,1 just for adults hidden restaurant, vines, a goat or 2, gardens, plants

Standard french breakfast. Great location. Beautiful pool. Wonderful views Lovely gifts. Water bottles, hats etc.

Limited hot water for showers. Extortionate taxi fares. 30 euros for 8 minute ride ( though that was not the hotels fault ) A little difficult to understand the layout of the hotel and its different accommodation when booking.

The hotel which is new was nicely appointed and comfortable in a lovely setting. Good pool etc.

To start with the hotel having moved last year you sent us to the wrong address. Because Cotignac is so difficult to traverse in a car we spent an hour, first finding out that the old hotel is being redeveloped and than trying to find the new one! While the hotel is very nice the restaurant, which we had dined in before and had high expectations of, was disappointing. A set menu, rather expensive for what it was and the food lacked flavour or distinction. Breakfast was also unexciting. The restaurant also currently overlooks a building site which is unfortunate.

Fantastic Hotel set in the heart of Cotignac. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at Lou Calen and found all the staff to be super pleasant. The restaurant was unfortunately closed so we didn't have a chance to sample the Menu.

Breakfast was very poor. Some local Jam's and Marmalades and few cereals and coffee with fresh bread. We asked for Eggs but unfortunately was not available - Breakfast Menu would benefit from having a chef to prepare eggs or self cook your own boiled eggs may help and some fresh meats would be perfect to offer the full continental breakfast package.

the property it’s self was divine. Breakfast was a disappointment. we were a group of 4 and had the tiniest piece of cheese to share amongst 4 people ( one which was gluten intolerant so could only have cheese and ham and coffee) for the price I’d expect more options. the croissants were standout though and there were a great selection of juices. Also, the communication was all in French so it can be a challenge for non French speakers to make out the directions.

Cotignac is lovely, the pool and closeness of our suite to the village, pool etc was great.

Needed a long mirror and more storage/hanging space for clothes. Some more cutlery would also be useful and waste baskets. More coffee and refills of the water would be good too. But suite, outside seating area and pool is lovely and very relaxing. Although there is some building works going on so there was some noise from this at times.

The location was wonderful. I love Cotignac and had wanted to stay at Lou Calen for some time. We went for a very special Wedding Anniversary (delayed for 2 yrs because of COVID) - we’d had to cancel our first booking.The food at the Secret Garden restaurant was amazing!

Property was excellent. Staff (especially Antony) were great and couldn’t have done more to make our stay perfect. Loved all the facilities with the grounds extremely beautiful and well kept
