Unique is an absolute. A place cannot be 'nearly' or 'the most'. This is a unique stay, a house 25 generations in one family, now down to their last 1000 acres so now opening a couple of rooms for board. The host / Marquis explains the history beautifully. The room was amazing, mostly 18th century? The new bathroom was in the turret annex. If you want amazing...
Be aware it's not a hotel, barely a B&B. It's a home and guests have very clear arrival time, cannot be before 6, there is no evening snacks etc possible and breakfast is a range of breads and croissants with coffee tea etc.

An unexpected treat ! You get a real sense of history when you stay here. The facilities were comfortable and the breakfast very good. The host was friendly and chatty .
A fairly out of the way location so need to plan for evening meals etc

Gorgeous ancient chateau, with an amazing host. We felt like we got so much more than we paid for with his knowledge and company for our brief stay. We also added on the dinner on the evening we arrived - 4 courses with wine, all locally sourced & beautifully cooked by our host. Thank you so much, we would love to come back.

Our host was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and accomodating. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with him and his wife, learning the history of the estate, the sunset views, and the extremely comfortable bed. I had the best night's sleep a traveler could ask for.

Everything, especially the story telling owner. Amazing what he has to tell about the chateau. It was a very good experience. And the owner made reservations for us at a nearby restaurant, that was also very good.
