We had the option to have breakfast or not and we liked the flexibility of this each day. The hotel offered style but in a relaxed manner and at the same time helped us to find other places to eat and visit in the area.

The only small thing that could have been better was to include the facility to make your own tea & coffee in the room, there were none! Also maybe a little fridge to store goods from the local market!

The location was charming: beautiful, conversion of a historic village along the canal with water activities. Lots of different restaurants, The building had been beautifully modernised and very comfy overlooking the water. We stayed only one night and didn't have breakfast but folk appeared to be enjoying it in a comfortable room in the adjoining building.

There was a festival on which closed some of the access roads. Either way the parking was a challenge as access to the quay in front of the hotel was one way and not easy to find.

We try to stay in this hotel when we travel between Brittany and Bordeaux. The town is picturesque and the hotel looks out onto one of the many waterways which give the area the name, la Venise Verte. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated and the breakfast is generous. Many local restaurants are within walking distance as are public car parks. Busy during the day the town is quiet at night. The hotel is run by a charming couple.

No fridge, only important to us as we are on a long trip often staying in self contained accommodation so carrying some items needing refrigeration. Paolo was very kind allowing us to put some small items in the kitchen fridge overnight.

We try to use this hotel when we travel between Bordeaux and Brittany. It is a wonderful place to stay overnight. The owners are always welcoming and helpful and the breakfast is generous. There are lots of restaurants for an evening meal and being on the edge of one of the many canals in the Venise Verte the setting is magical. The rooms have been designed individually with great thought and creativity.

The hotel is situated right by the canal, in a beautiful position. Our room had a nice view and was well equipped, with a generous sized bathroom. There was a good breakfast, held in the second part of the hotel, just next door. Coulon is a convenient base for touring the Marais, and also has a choice of restaurants and an interesting local museum. The owners were friendly and helpful.

We liked everything about the hotel - once we had found it! This was not easy in heavy rain, so clear instructions beforehand would have been useful.

Everything was very satisfactory

Excellent location. Very pleasant hosts. Very interesting and nicely decorated hotel. The stair carpet could do with a change as the brightly striped pattern makes ones eyes jump all over the place. Very nice breakfast.

Already mentioned the stair carpet . The breakfast room gets a bit overcrowded around the coffee machine and the electric toaster so maybe it would be a good idea to have two coffee machines and space things out a bit.

Lovely welcome. Riverside hotel in attractive village with many bars and restaurants. Very comfortable bed. Well positioned as a stopover en-route from Caen/Saint Malo to SW France

We love absolutely everything about this hotel! It was our third stay and we’ll be back again! It’s a beautiful family run hotel in a pretty village. Our dogs were made welcome. There are lovely walks from the hotel. The room was beautiful and so clean. The owners are lovely. We can’t fault it!!
