During my short (10-night) tour of Normandy and Brittany, I stayed at six different hotels, some budget hotels, others more expensive, some good but others less so. It is remarkable that the Logis Hôtel Fontaine, which was the least expensive, was one of the best. Of course it doesn’t compare with hotels charging up to €80+ for dinner – one would hardly expect it to. I started staying here on Tuesday nights a couple of years ago, prior to catching the Wednesday morning sailing from Roscoff to Plymouth, for which an early check-in is required. It is an easy 30-minute drive from the hotel to the port. The hotel is run by a couple, the wife of whom speaks excellent English. My room was of sufficient size for a short stay and had a good workspace, with facilities for making hot drinks. The bathroom was large with good quality fittings and a full-size walk-in shower with two heads – in effect a wet-room that would probably be useful for handicapped guests. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent – a tasty paté, a Brittany sausage and a trio of cheeses, washed down with coffee and cognac. Because of my early departures, I have never sampled breakfast here, but on my next trip, I shall stay for two nights and explore the locality I strongly recommend this hotel

The hotel is in a pleasant area, has a good restaurant and friendly helpful staff. It is ideally situated for early morning sailings from Roscoff, being only about 35 minutes drive from the port. I asked for a room on the ground floor or accessible by lift. This was provided

I don't like showers over baths - they are dangerous for elderly clients like myself, particularly if there are no grab-rails provided. Acceptable for a one-night stop, but a walk-in shower would be better (and probably cheaper) I understand the restaurant is only open Mondays to Thursdays. Not a problem for my Tuesday night stay for an early ferry on Wednesday, but might be for a Sunday morning sailing

I returned here for a second night because of the service and the quality of the room the first time I stayed and I wasn't disappointed. The host Vivien (?) was amazing. I needed to make some calls in French, and as my language skills are limited she did them for me. For me this is amazing customer service, far exceeding what I would expect. In addition the rooms are nicely decorated, soft furnishings are coordinated, the bed is really comfortable and the whole ambience was peaceful.

Very clean, good sized room, comfortable bed and had tea/coffee facilities. Good communication in advance from hotel re. check-in instructions and breakfast arrangements.

Staff vas extremely friendly. The accomodation was very clean and had plenty of room to put your stuff to in the bathroom too. The hotel is next to the motorway but we cannot hear any traffic noise in the room.

The toilet water refilling time was quite slow, bit inconvenient for 2 people. Bed was a bit small/short.

The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. The room/bathroom were a good size and very clean and comfortable. There was tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There was ample free parking. The evening meal in the hotel was very good and good value for money - with wine included. Would recommend this hotel.

Great little hotel just off the motorway. Really friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Food was good quality and lots of choice at dinner. Rooms were a little dated but spotlessly clean. Great value for money.

Wi-Fi signal wasn’t great

The location was perfect for us just 30 minutes from Roscoff ferry, the room and bathroom was large and very clean, the breakfast was excellent, the owner was extremely nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Good bed and peaceful at the back of hotel. Lovely breakfast.

There was no internet. We were told only in the morning that there was a problem. There should have been a notice to explain the situation instead of trying to find a place that worked in the hotel late at night.
