Lovely family run hotel, and hotel food was excellent.

All good. Food was a little late arriving in restaurant but we understood as only one chef, with one being I’ll.

The room was large comfortable and very clean and the hotel location was great. The dinner we had was exceptional - very very welcome after 7 hours in the car

The coffee was a little disappointing - a good coffee machine would have made the breakfast really good

Fantastic restaurant and helpful staff. Fine dining quality food with a tranquil beautiful view out to the garden which rolls down to the Loire River. Very accommodating of our young children.

Beautiful location, absolutely fabulous food and service

The hotel & restaurants are very nicely located a few steps away from the Loire river along which we had a nice stroll towards the center of the village (La Tour Pouilly) and we also took a bath in the river as it was such a hot day. They have nice, clean rooms and the breakfast is very good.

The staff is not very friendly or welcoming. When, upon my arrival, the lady at the reception asked me if we wanted breakfast without explaining first what it contained, she raised her voice at me, annoyed probably that I only took 2 breakfasts for the adults (and not for our children) saying that people do not understand and they expect things. In the evening, we had dinner at the restaurant and when we called to book (we were in town) we were told that they accept us, but the kids had to be nice and not bother the other clients. The dinner was very good, however it took ages to order and to get some food (at least half an hour for the order and one hour after our arrival we still had not got any food). The kids were good though as they played in the garden away from the tables, but they were so hungry, I had to give them bread and crackers from the bag. The waiter forgot our wine bottle which we had to ask for again and he mixed the order and my husband did not get any starter. There was a problem with the service for sure as one table left without waiting anymore for their food. There were no more than 15 people, us included, in the whole restaurant, so not a particularly busy evening. Anyway, though we did get some ice cream to make up for the missed starter, we did not get any apologies or explanations for the delay. Also, the following day when we checked out, and went to pay the bills, the host was quite cold and formal and told us to leave the keys on the reception desk when we finished. It strike me as I had heard them earlier explaining the problem with the service and apologising to a previous French couple who left. They were very nice and warm when they bid them goodbye. Could have been a problem with us being foreigners? We speak fluent French though, as we have been living in France for 15 years. Anyway, though nice restaurant and hotel overall, I do not recommend it to families with kids or foreigners.
