The chateau itself was beautiful - recently restored, but in a very authentic way. The breakfast was delicious - home-made jams, a selection of pastries, freshly-squeezed oranged juice. Antoine was a perfect host - helpful with all our questions (in English), happy to talk about the history of the place when asked, but generally unobstrusive. It's a relatively small chateau, the host's family live in one wing, and at the moment, only two rooms are let for paying guests, so you really feel in a non-touristic situation. The bedroom was lovely, and the two public rooms we could access - dining room and drawing room - were beautiful. Deep in the French countryside.

It didn't bother us, but might be an issue for some - the lack of wifi signal in the bedrooms.

Our entire stay was perfect, from being greeted on our arrival by Antoine with his perfect English, being shown to our spacious and airy room with elaborate furniture and seeing the beautiful salon and dining room furnished with antique furnishing that went so well with the chateau. The gardens were lovely to walk around and sit in during the heat. Antoine was excellent at suggesting places to visit during the day and even booked some restaurants for us in the evenings, we couldn't have asked for a better host or a more magnificent accommodation

We were very happy with our stay and the only thing that could have been better was that the gardens were not suffering from drought, but that was certainly not within the owner's capability to change as the whole area was in danger of fire due to the terribly dry conditions, unheard of for many years. We just hope that they get some rain and the gardens they have worked so hard at recover.

Old country house beautifully restored with period furnishings. Huge room and bathroom. Some use of dining room for breakfast and sitting room - both large and lavish! Wonderful host - the family live in half the house. Lovely fresh continental breakfast served. Large grounds - available to use/stroll around. Location is very quiet - great to get away from busy towns/cities. A great experience!

Need to travel 10km to access towns with restaurants. No TV - but that was a nice change. Not much available in nearby Saint Dolay. No facilities to make a tea or coffee etc in the room - however this is available on request down in the dining room.

Chateau is filled with period antiques and amazing tapestries. It’s a museum. Host speaks excellent English and is warm, helpful. And interesting. We stayed three days and enjoyed the property very much.

Everything was excellent. No issues.

The chateau is in a very rural location which we liked. The owners kindly provided a lovely light supper for an additional charge,(booked prior to arrival) as local restaurants were very limited. The bedroom was large with a very dramatic canopied bed. For preference we love a soft mattress but this one had a memory foam topper which helped to soften it a bit. We slept well. Bath with overhead shower. Out welcome was lovely and the owner Antoine was delightful. Very friendly and we enjoyed meeting him tremendously. His chateau is small and charming. Loved the antique furniture. breakfast was laid out in the morning for us, and the other 2 guests at the large dining table. Freshly squeezed oranges, bread, pain au chocolate and fresh fruit. We can recommend the chateau to fellow travellers it is a delightful stop.

Nothing really?

A most peaceful and tranquil location with excellent hosts and exceptional comfort and certainly great value for money. A lot of love, time, effort and expertise has gone into refurbishing the chateau and guests cannot help but be amazed at what has taken place over such a short period of time. Although an evening meal is not included in the stay, there are plenty of hostelries within a short distance and the delightful breakfast certainly made up for things. We will certainly be returning as soon as possible.....

Traveled through France and stayed at several B&Bs but this one was most certainly our favorite! The host made sure that everything was perfect, from the temperature in our room to our breakfast. The hospitality and attention to detail was very much appreciated. If you’re seeking a peaceful place to relax and get the feeling of a Château stay, this place is just what you’re looking for. And all of this for a very reasonable price! Just perfect. Thank you again!
