Proximity to Wartburg castle. Can walk to castle in 3 minutes. So nice to visit castle grounds when there are no crowds. Food was exceptional. Rooms were beautifully decorated. The views from our room and the dining room were amazing.

Parking instructions. It would be better if either the property or booking.com would give detailed instructions on where/how to park. We ended up at a gate and unfortunately our German language skills are non-existent so we did not completely understand where to go. Ended up driving too far on this narrow mountain road and had to turn around.

Stunning views for both breakfast and dinner as well as in the room ! Amazing! the bed was very comfortable, staff were all friendly and helpful very smiley, check in and check out very easy and smooth, everyone professional but also waiter staff funny and great to interact with! Super clean and beautiful looking hotel in so many ways.

There is not much at all but I guess I would mention it’s on a large hill so it’s hard to walk to from the car and to the public cafe (steepness) but honestly it’s on a hill so that what you would expect!

A true five-star experience, from the welcome to the extraordinary views, to the historic aspect of the property, to the restaurant (both breakfast and dinner).

There's a shuttle from the lower parking lot to the property, but a shuttle from the train station would be nice. We were glad the weather was cool, as there was no evident air conditioning.

It was totally about the setting, which is in the shadow of the castle, up on a hill. Really, how romantic and unusual is that? The view from the dining room is seriously gorgeous. Worth taking the time to relax in the lounge (with a stone fireplace) after diner with a digestif of choice. Throws you back a century or so.

The hotel was ever so slightly (as in a tiny bit) tired, but it is easily forgiven considering the rest of the venue. The price is a tad high but definitely not worth passing up the experience because of that.

Quietness, situation, view, good beds, cleanliness

Quality of food was rather mediocre, gave us the strong impression coming from industrial origin, like Thüringer Bratwurst aus der Dose, Pfanni-Klösse aus der Packung. Reflection on the menu would be essential, more care should be put in the preparation. It was not quite up to the standard we expected.

If you want to explore the castle of Wartburg this is THE place to stay. Very romantic and beautiful location with views of the Thüringer forest. Nice room with the authentic feeling of being in a castle. Good restaurant offering local specialities. The staff helped with transportation of luggage from the parking lot to the hotel which is on top of a very steep hill.

The mattresses were a little soft for my taste.

Superb view from the restaurant and great food (I recommend to have a dinner there). They do have coffee without coffein, which is great. Quite night in the forest and good style for the room decoration. If you go for upper floor: pleasant view

I wanted to have a room with badewanne and indicated it in booking. However, it was not there and the hotel simply ignored my request. Besides, hotel stuff does not speak English very well, so communication in German is much better (although, for 5 stars I would expect them all to be able to). Sport (gym) area is really small (only running facilities) and is on the ground floor. The library has only 3-4 shelves, so be aware.

While having a delicious breakfast, we also could enjoy a breathtaking view from our table.

Absolutely nothing to complain about.
