The view was superb and that’s the reason we booked. The rooms are very spacious but bathrooms a bit tight. Nice balcony to admire the view. Very large and comfortable bed. Well laid out wardrobe, storage space and lighting was good. We didn’t have breakfast, just a coffee. There is a lockable storage room for bikes. The meal in the restaurant was good and the wines were well priced.

It was hot when we stayed and like so many hotels in Germany, no air conditioning. There was space for a fridge but there wasn’t one and the complimentary water was warm. You could get cold beers from the reception. No kettle to make a cup of tea or coffee but apparently, some rooms do have, so choose carefully. Wifi was not good at all. But the thing we hadn’t expected was the road outside being so noisy, so sitting on the balcony listening to motorcycles roar by wasn’t so good while admiring the view, although the restaurant on the ground floor seemed to be better with sound barriers.

The best part of this hotel is (in summer) undoubtly the patio restaurant seating as the sun sets over Alpsee, it is simply unbeatable. Nice enough balconies overlooking same lake. Quiet location that avoids the hustle-bustle from Immenstad, still the towncentre is nearby (20min walk). A stroll to the shore of Alpsee is just a few minutes and highly recommended. In all I really liked this hotel, it is a 3-star hotel but because of its charm with a 5 star rating from me. The staff is rather friendly, some ppl complain about being pushy in the restaurant, but I would say the opposite. Have only good to say. Breakfast buffer was good. I see ppl complain about restaurant (price vs quality etc), but I thought it was excellent, I absolutely did not regret eating out every evening at the restaurant, especially not given the use of the outdoor patio. Sufficient parking outside when I was there, but I can see it can get rather full on busy days.

As others have written: the wifi. It was just ok in my room, but a few meters towards the balcony it sort of disappeared. Also in the restaurant (outside) no coverage. Wifi is so cheap to install, that it seems long overdue. The matresses are what you expect in a 3 star hotel: will do but not great. The bathrooms are small, but I felt just ok. (or I did not mind they were small).

The Receptionist was extremely friendly. We were already happy even before entering the room. The gentleman not only guided us with the good restaurants around but also was very courtious. Room was really big with a perfect view to mountain and sea. Bathroom was clean with all the facilities.Breakfast was good, although we didnt get the best place to sit and wasnt asked to choose the table. The Lady just told us to sit on a particular table without offering us another choice, although there were many empty and clean tables with the view. Only thing that I wished could have been taken care of.

Rothenfels room was spacious and comfortable with balcony overlooking the Alpsee. Fantastic view. Parking was easy in front of the hotel. The receptionist was very helpful when we arrived and got outside to tell us that we can park right in front of the door as it was raining. Lovely gesture. It is great location for beautiful Alpsee Nature Park which is 10-15 min walk.

It is rather dated and expensive compared to a lot of other accommodation. Breakfast was expensive at an extra 30 euros and city tax 4.40 euros. The restaurant in the evening was very quiet. Mixed feelings, we are not sure if we would stay there again. It was OK for one night.

The hotel was in a great location for us, it was about a 10 minute stroll down to the lake which is the largest natural lake in the district.

There was no air conditioning in the room and with the very high temperatures, the room remained quite hot all night. The wifi was appauling. We keep a travel blog for family and friends and we couldn't complete the entry due to the poor wify.

the view is certainly the best... so very beautiful. the staff are really helpful and breakfast is very nice. the rooms are big and are kept at a good temperature (also the radiators can be controlled in the room, which is nice. we requested the use of the TV room and this was kindly offered to us. the hotel was quiet and good to sleep in, loved the bed... it was a nice comfortable stay.

wifi is rather bad or non-existing (non-paid wifi).

Hotel is located in front of lake and mountain. Lake view rooms are best place to spend time at. Staff were very helpful and informative. Sauna, bathrobe and towels are provided by hotel. Enough parking space for the guests.

Food choices were limited. Considering only german cuisine provided it can be understandable.

We had a perfect stay in this hotel. The lake view from the balcony is amazing, just like in their photos. Location of the hotel is easily accessible using public transport and at walkable distance from the lake front. Room is clean and comfy. Breakfast is decent. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.

There is city tax in addition to the room charges, its not much but it would be nice to be informed about this before.

Breakfast was good but too expensive

Perfectly nice little hotel with everything you need for this particular location. There is a restaurant and a sauna and enough parking space. Two steps away from the lake and little touristical town. Compare to the usual vacation rental around the area, this is a great price deal.
