The recent refurbishment is pretty good - the rooms are well-equipped and the public areas are quite posh. We have been staying here ever since it was the Handelshof, this was my second time since it re-opened. The breakfast is good, all you can eat and good quality. The location, right opposite the Bahnhof and the bus station, couldn't be better - you can get a tram up to Altstadt very easily, or walk it in fifteen minutes, and there are bars and restaurants nearby if you don't fancy the hotel bar. The housekeeping is really very good - fresh bottled water every day, fresh toiletries, great care taken not to disturb your stuff.

The public areas seem somewhat dark, which is fine for an intimate drink but somewhat gloomy at breakfast. The idea of having old suitcase as bedside tables is quirky and fun, but impractical - too easy for your night time glass of water to slide off!

The room is very spacious and cozy furnished. Having a pet with you is no problem (although it costs extra). the bed is comfy. The hotel is located right in the center of Nordhausen - which makes it a bit tricky to reach by car (since it is located in a pedestrian zone but if you come by train it is easy since it is literally across the station) and you are close to all shops. There is also a river with a bit of trees and meadows around just a few steps away - to walk your dog in the morning which I appreciated.

The ad promised a view - but there is not much of a view to be honest. Curtains did not darken the room completely. Apart from that is was a really nice hotel room.

Stayed 2 nights. Good location to railway difficult to access by car. Although once aware easy. Paid Car €15 per night to park few minutes walk. Reception is, in bar area and the staff very welcoming and helpful. Good free WIFI, and paid car parking. Bedroom was very spacious very clean with TV. 1 comfortable very large 2 single bed clean. Bathroom is ensuite and very clean with toiletries. No coffee making facilities  in room.  Would highly recommend and would stay again, especially  if visiting for train rides, as only 1 minute walk across the road

This is a really superb hotel. Our room was very large and spotlessly clean. The en-suite was excellent. The room was well lit and complementary bottles of water were provided every day. The breakfast was extraordinarily good with loads of choice and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is 1920s/30s themed with a restaurant called "Chaplins" attached, and the theme really works with appropriate music in the lift/restaurant and all the room having an associated name - ours was Salvador Dali! We had booked into the hotel very late in the day as a previous booking fell through and we were absolutely delighted with this hotel. A perfect stay. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

Good location, next to the railway station. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, with the room spacious and clean. The big bathroom was a treat!

While the hotel is next to the station it isn't exactly in the main part of the town and is either a short tram or walk away. The room though clean could do with a refresh or paint and I would suggest curtains on all the windows, especially as there wasn't a bedroom door in our suite.

We could get off the train at Nordhausen-Nord and walk straight to the hotel in 1 min. Hotel Reception recommended a brilliant Italian restaurant around the corner from the hotel for supper. The breakfast was very delicious with many options for vegetarians. In the morning, Reception then recommended us Landesgartenschaugelände Nordhausen - my young daughter and I had an amazing time at this scenic park which is just 10mins walk from the hotel. We will definitely return here next time.

Everything! The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were professional and friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. Before our stay, we were a bit sceptical of the proximity to the train station, but this was not an issue, because we hardly heard any trains Highly recommend this hotel!

Nothing! It has been an unusually hot summer in Germany, so air-conditioning would have been good, but this is a minor issue.

a fridge in our room would have been nice as we like to have cold water and also no tea or coffee making facilities both of these are provided here in Ireland when you book hotel.

The staff was super helpful and friendly. We loved our spacious room that was perfect for my husband and I and our dog. The restaurant Charlie's downstairs had great food and the morning breakfast is amazing!! The hotel is located across the street from the steam train which we were traveling on up to Brocken. Oh, and we were able to leave our car with the hotel while we traveled on the train for the weekend.

pillows were too soft. we were also charged for car parking on their site but really it was a rough unpaved site that wasn’t really a car park. small think but slightly annoying also weren’t served drinks Sunday evening despite being residents as lady on desk said bar-closed
