This property is clean and new and full of unexpected small touches that make for a pleasant stay - toothbrushes, washcloths, a plentiful selection of in-room tea and coffee, and even a tea towel. The decor is tasteful and the room quite comfortable. The property is easy to find and the non-contact checkin was seamless. Breakfast at the bakery is easy and delicious. Due to error on my part (the app crashed mid-booking), I didn’t book with breakfast included, but the additional charge would be of good value.

The only improvement I would suggest is a small shelf in the shower to hold soap and shampoo. Germany is currently having a heatwave and air conditioning made this listing even more attractive. The AC blew cool - not cold - air but never really cooled down the room. Perhaps if it had been turned on before we arrived. Fortunately the fan was enough to keep us comfortable.

Perfect location, easy parking, above a great bakery for the breakfast and other sweet temptations. The room was spacious and well equipped with well appreciated tiny details for travelers, like amenities, biscuits next to the coffee set.

No hot water when I woke up at 06.00

Room was large and clean. Breakfast was good.

Feather pillows are uncomfortable. Breakfast was in a cafe under the apartments. No English menu and staff have limited English so you just have to guess or pick randomly from the menu. Could not find Wi-Fi information in the room or in the email.

Automatic door was unreliable. Once we finally got in, one of us remained in the room to avoid being locked out.

Clean and nice bathroom

It’s not a hotel. Hostel at best. A few rooms over some shops. No staff. All automated. No restaurants anywhere near. Poor sign outside. If you type the hotel name in to google maps it takes you to owners house. Wasted an hour! Had to phone for directions. All information in room was only in German. Couldn’t find wifi details

Room 105 was well appointed, good size, clean and it had a lovely bathroom with excellent water pressure for the shower. Parking space was always available ( look for signs saying “Besucher”). Plentiful tea/coffee supplies, kettle and a good sized fridge. Sockets on both sides of the headboard and we found the mattresses firm but comfortable. Within easy 5min walking distance of a supermarket, pizza restaurant and ice cream parlour. The guesthouse’s location was good, within easy reach of the autobahn and the interesting resort of Wilhelmshaven, good base from which to explore the North Sea coast. Breakfast at the bakery below was fine, choice of breakfast combinations with meats or cheese, orange juice plus usual array of coffees. Lovely selection of bread rolls to chose from. Not massive in quantity but adequate. This was accessed by black card vouchers, left in your room by the kettle.

Look for the black bakery sign “Bäckerei Schultze -Mühlenfeld” with a windmill motif on the corner building at the junction. The guesthouse entrance is facing the road on this white building. The key machine is located on the wall next to the entrance door. The guesthouse is called “Zür Altenpost”. Had to request the key machine code as hadn’t received it, the day before arrival. On arrival, this code didn’t deliver a key. Spoke to the lady in the bakery who kindly phoned the owner who came out immediately. Once we had the key, it took ages to figure out the room lock; turn key anti-clockwise until you hear a click, the continuing turning anti-clockwise and the door will open. The room was like a sauna. No working air conditioning and we were approaching a heatwave of 32c. Luckily, room 105 had 2 large fully opening windows and a velux roof light in the bathroom which allowed some cooler air in. The downside was the resulting traffic noise but there was no other option. Previous visitors have already mentioned the thin pillows but we weren’t awoken by any noise from the bakery below.
