Very beautiful location and a very well managed hotel

The location is amazing and it is excellent value for the money. The concept is very good because it offers a privacy due to the fact that the units are divided into bungalows surrounded by lovely flowers and threes and the bungalows are directly on the beach. In our opinion the service, the cleanliness, the food and the location make this place absolutely the best place to stay in this part of the island. From Lixoury goes a ferry so it is easy and fast to reach Agrostoli in only 15 minutes. The hotel is run by the lovely family, very kind and friendly. They serve very good breakfast on the terrace with the marvelous sea view. Also for a lunch or a dinner they are preparing traditional greek meals, that taste absolutely the best in comparison with all the other fast food restorants at the Xi beach. For preparing meals they are using their own home made olive oil that is just perfect. The beautiful sandy beach is looong enough that there was never overcrowded and each bungalow has its own sunbed set. We were lucky enough to see even the sea turtles nests on one part of the beach. If you like beach walks you can enjoy it here early in the morning or before the sunset because you can walk from one end of the beach to the other almost the whole hour along the sandy shore. If you are looking for a nice and quite place to stay this would be very good choice. They are pet friendly and this place deservs all the recommendations and we would love to come back. We stayed in an AirBnB on a previous trip to Kefalonia, but this time I was travelling solo with my 5yo daughter and wanted to keep things simple. Kefalonia BH&B is a small, low key resort, made up of small houses, each comprising four apartments. Everything was immaculately clean, and walking down to the beach or to breakfast through the whitewashed 'village' with its oleanders and fig trees, alive with sparrows, was always a pleasure. The location, at the end of a country road, was very quiet (no shops or bars), and very peaceful in the evenings. It was very laidback for late July. Apart from the beach, just down the steps from the resort, everything is a drive, so a car is a necessity, - there's a good supermarket and petrol station a 5 minute drive away, half way to Lixouri, and plenty of very good beaches within a short distance. Megas Lakkos itself is a long (1km?), narrow stretch of clean, red sand, with clear water and a shallow gradient that's ideal for children, and the water was perfectly calm for duration of our stay. The beach opens up a bit wider just to the East, where turtles were nesting, but the area just beside the hotel is perfectly pleasant. Breakfast was a very basic continental, albeit in a beautiful location. Convenience aside, there are fridges in the rooms, and there's an argument for just buying better quality bread, cheese, fruit, ham, yoghurt and honey from the local supermarket (or heading to Lixouri for Greek coffee and a pie!). The evening meals, however, were much better than I was expecting. A choice of four or five dishes, all nicely cooked in a homely sort of style, with generous portions. The sunset view of the Ionian, with the cicadas going in the background, made for really enjoyable evenings (and there's a small playground to one side, where children can 'disappear' to towards the end of the meal!). The women serving us were also the ideal waiters, friendly and relaxed and very efficient.

The WiFi was very slow, which didn't really affect us. Mobile data (4G/5G) was OK. There's a tendency of some guests to reserve their umbrellas and loungers on the beach using towels, rather than taking their stuff with them when they leave. I accept this as a cultural difference, but it was a bit frustrating when there were only half a dozen people on the beach, but all twenty or so loungers were 'reserved'. If you've got your own shade, the beach beyond the umbrellas was empty, but Ryanair sent our beach tent to Madrid by mistake!

Its perfect hotel for family especially with kids. Just in front of hotel is beach and its a bit far from main beach, so its not busy area.

wifi was so slow... there is no pickup service. Before my holiday, I asked hotel staff how to get there and they answered by taxi. But actually you can reach there with ferry and its much cheaper than taxi.

We had a wonderful sea view from out balcony. It was also very quiet even though the compound was full. It's all quite basic but everything you need and exactly what we were looking for which was a quiet nice beachfront location to use as a base as we explored the island by car. Rooms were cleaned every day. Staff were lovely.

The hotel is located directly on a beautiful, uncrowded long sandy beach. On the beach sunbeds and umbrellas are free for guests. But you can find a crowded beach with activities and beach clubs in a 10 min. walking distance - Xi Beach. The restaurant of the hotel consists of a terrace, which is located directly at the sea. For breakfast there are all kinds of coffee and a buffet-style variaty with everything you need. The hotel is family-owned, staff is very concerned about the welfare of the guests and always helpful. The rooms are simple but clean and have balconies. Air-condition and bathroom worked very well. The pace throughout the hotel is calm and relaxed. The hotel has a taverna, more tavernas in walking distance. You should have a rental car however to explore the island. The main-town Agostoli has a long and nice highstreet for shopping. To get from airport to hotel: Use the car ferry from Agostoli to Lixouri (cheap and twice a hour) or without car: Taxi to/ from ferry.

The sea is just 1 meter from the hotel, clean room, clean and warm sea water, bus station 7 minutes by foot. Very nice personal. Usually we stayed a day in the hotel (because it has all wee need: air-conditioner, breakfast/dinner, sea 1 meter away from the hotel, pay-free sunbeds + umbrella, etc ) and the next day we travelled around the island or took a trip to another island.

fantastic location, very friendly owners and staff. The room was very clean and was maintained to a high standard throughout our stay. We were looking for a very relaxing and laid back holiday and we definitely found it !!. We will be back next year

the one thing that we found difficult for the first few days was using the hand held shower, but once we got used to it it was fine.

Gerasimos and his family were very helpful and accommodating - efcharistó for everything! I loved waking up to a view of the sea from my balcony and having a lovely beach on my doorstep, with sun lounges and umbrellas provided for free by the hotel. There is a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in this area - I was finally able to get some much-needed rest :) The rooms are quite basic but clean, which was enough for a summer beach vacay when not spending much time in the room. There are a couple of cafes/tavernas nearby as well as food at the hotel (during set hours). The hotel is in a more remote location. Apparently you can walk to Xi beach, but I didn't bother as I was only there a few days and preferred the calmer beach atmosphere in front of the hotel. Lixouri is about a 10 min drive if you want to go to the town: you'll need to take a taxi as there are no public buses. The most economical way to get between the airport/Argostoli/Lassi to the hotel is by ferry - take a taxi to and from each port; the ferry is only around 3eu - my Lixouri taxi driver organised for his colleague to pick me up in Argostoli. I also did a day trip to Petani beach, which is about a 30min drive. One taxi tried to charge me almost double compared with a more reasonable driver that Gerasimos recommended.

Breakfast could be more varied, perhaps with some fresh fruits and vegetables on offer. To be fair, I didn't ask if there were any alternatives as I'd bought some fruit at the Lixouri supermarket.

Location is top-notch, next to the beach, breakfast included and with great views. The family business was welcoming and friendly, clean rooms and superb staff, another great service is that you may use the umbrellas and seatings free of charge and enjoy the sea and beautiful beach, quality of water and seaview. Highly recommended and looking forward to get back soon :)
