A very nice and cozy hotel near the beach. The family running the hotel was extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was personal, not buffet style. Very tasty and freshly made and the place for breakfast, which was located in a shady garden, was remarkably pleasant. The room was large enough and stylishly rustic. What I especially liked was that there were no masses of tourists in this city. Now of course it's hypocritical to write that you should visit the Methoni... but I do it anyway... just don't tell everyone about this nice town. :-)

That we didn't stay here longer.

From beginning to end, my experience was exceptional. Nikos was a wonderful host. Nothing was too much trouble, and everything was of a very high standard. The breakfast was more than ample and included daily homemade bread (made by Nikos), savoury items, yoghurt with fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, a hot cuppa, and even a different homemade dessert every day, which was made by the lovely Egle. And having breakfast under the pergola where it was always lovely and cool was a special treat. Everything was clean and neat at all times. The location was great, just a couple of minutes' walk to the plaza, restaurants and cafes and the beach. Thank you Niko for a wonderful stay!

Nothing!

Everything! Nikos and Egne made us feel very welcome. Their motto more home than hotel is so true. Our stay was relaxing, peaceful and so enjoyable. Methoni is a lovely small town, with some great restaurants and a great base to enjoy the area. A wonderful castle to explore, just 5 minutes walk from the hotel, with gorgeous views. Especially good to watch the sunset!

There was nothing to dislike.

Everything!!! Niko’s was an excellent host. Very helpful, kind and informative. His breakfasts were phenomenal and his mother’s baking was delicious. How can you go wrong when every breakfast ends with dessert. Clean comfortable room with balcony. Lovely common room. Great location as walking distance to castle, beach and restaurants. Excellent value.

Liked everything.

Exceptional breakfast as was the outside area where it was served under the vines. Host was very warm and welcoming always helpful, polite, engaging and gave us a gift of olive oil upon leaving, a very generous gesture. Beds were amazing, the best beds we have slept in so far, huge and very comfortable. Rooms were large, clean and serviced every day. The hotel was centrally located, 2 minutes to the sea side and the castle. Windows had fly screens, so you could have the windows open for natural airflow throughout the night instead of having the aircon on.

weak hairdryer that overheated continuously and would shut down and had to wait for it to cool down before it would restart.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights after reading several reviews. Really enjoyed our stay. Very welcoming and friendly family runned hotel, just a few minutes walk from the beach front and castle. Room comfortable. Breakfast amazing. Staff very friendly. The owner made some great suggestions for restaurants in the old town. Highly recommended, and would stay here again

There is nothing not to like

very well located , 100 meters from the beach and the castle of Methoni. Nikos , the owner-manager , is a delightful man , ready to help by all means . The room no. 7 was tidy , clean , well equipped and quiet with good big beds. Free big bottle of water everyday . Rich and excellent breakfast ( fresh orange juice , fresh bread , cheese , yoghurt, different fruits , ‘bonne maman’ jams , honey , eggs , daily different Greek cakes , of course coffee , tea, espressos ,….of good quality) taken on the backyard-terrasse below a sun protective natural roof (green leaves above you everywhere). very charming helper from Lithuania .

Furnitures a bit old fashioned , but did not really bother

Welcome from the host was great, the room had all the necessary things, the breakfast however was exceptional, we have rarely been treated to such a breakfast feast, fresh orange juice, home made bread, fresh cakes, Greek Yoghurt (of course) fresh fruit, jams, honey, spread, tea or coffee, eggs, all very tasty. The atmosphere was great, sitting outside under the pergola was lovely. On street parking right outside.

The host and the ambience. The host couldn't do enough for us. View from room of castle and proximity to the restaurants and beach. Bed was most comfortable out of 9 previous hotels in Greece. Breakfast served at table including homemade cakes and bread and fresh fruit. Lovely pergola covered in vines where breakfast was served. A wonderful gift of olive oil on leaving.

Some finishings a little dated... but reflected in the price.

Nikos and his partner were exceptional hosts. It was absolutely spotless, dead quiet and the hotel was so convenient. Just a couple of minutes walk to both the sandy beach and the centre of town. The breakfasts were off the scale wonderful, and the creeper covered garden terrace was lovely. They really couldn’t have been nicer, so helpful with recommendations etc. Sapienza restaurant was our favourite.

Nothing at all
