Villa Caribe in Livingston offered a mix of good and not-so-good. The location with its stunning view of the Caribbean Sea is the highlight. The hotel has an old-school charm and is more comfortable than other places in Livingston. The view of the sea is a real treat, and the hotel's classic feel is cozy and a step above other choices in town. They have a big pool that's really refreshing, but watch out for sand flies in that area. On the downside, the service was a bit limited, and the front desk didn't help much with arranging trips to Rio Dulce or Flores.

The hotel is located just up the hill from the wharf. Which is not completely unbearable to walk to in the heat. The staff were wonderful as I had a mix up with my arrival date, so when I did arrive the next day the front desk staff member organized a lunch pack for me as I had missed breakfast. The restaurant is beautiful and has great sea views whilst you enjoy your breakfast. I also ate dinner in the restaurant mainly out of convenience, but the menu was varied. My room was clean, the bed was firm and the Aircon worked. The bathroom had nice aesthetic light fixtures. The balcony provided fantastic views of the sunsets and bird wildlife. The pool was by far the best aspect of this hotel and the rock waterfall feature was a nice touch.

The pool area could do with some umbrellas or shade.

As someone who loves being immersed in nature, I truly loved this hotel. The grounds are lush and the bird life is amazing, especially at dusk. The pool is large and clean. The restaurant food and staff (including trainees from a nearby vocational program) were just great. The views are to die for and the access to what Livingston has to offer cannot be beat.

Though it was not a hardship for me and my colleagues, the number of stairs would be very difficult for someone who is mobility impaired (though they may have accommodations for that that I am not aware of).

Lovey Hotel surrounded by beautiful gardens where we watched many birds settle in the trees at dusk from our private balcony. Swimming pool clean, fresh & welcoming. Restaurant good with great views out to sea, Staff very helpful. Location in centre of town.

Great location, beautiful pool. Friendly staff - especially at the front desk and the porters who assisted with bags. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable with nice terraces/patios looking over the pool and out into the ocean. We were there for just a night on a work/team-building trip and it was a great place to rest and recharge our batteries after a long day of activities. They also accommodate a later checkout and let me, my daughter, and our sitter stay on the grounds while the rest of the team was out at Siete Altares y Playa Blanca. Overall, a wonderful refugee for a little luxury in Livingston.

Would be awesome to have working wifi in the pool area so I could have worked while watching my daughter swim/play with her sitter - but totally not a huge deal and very understandable!

Restaurant did not have many options for breakfast food and dinner took a very long time to serve when there was only 2 people in the whole restaurant .

They didn't change towels after the first night, they changed them after the second night. Little fault.

I loved everything! The breakfast was fire!!!!! Their pineapple juice? Chef kiss*** I had gotten the hr massage by Carla & she did phenomenal! Staff was very attentive! I would stay again!!!!!!
