French Haveli is my favourite place with peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The local manager Bansi and his team always present themselves as helpful. I believe Banis is an asset to the premises. The owner of French Haveli Mr Paterl is extremely helpful everytime when I needed to talk.As it is within the old part of Ahmedabad, you will have a feel of heritage ambience. Ahmedabad is famous for street food as well as restaurant based eating place.

Everything is good. However, at night time, returning to the property, sometimes, we encounter barking of street dogs. So its advisable to get an tuk tuk or uber as close as possible. I know this is nothing to do with the hotel itself. Just an observation for safety.

Ambience

I was the only one who stayed in the hotel I ate alone and felt quite lonely.

Heritage stay, staff, and the balcony attached with my room, to name a few.

Rooms need renovation. I know it's a heritage property, but it can be renovated to add big stairs if not lift. Also, walls need to be repainted. Cars don't reach, so you can't take a taxi but need to take auto or walk. There are not many food options. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, then you have to walk for at least 15 mins to get something, which is not good if you have small kids or old people within your group.

This is my second visit to French Haveli. The breakfast was homemade by the in-house team lead by wonderful, helpful and joyful Mr Bansi. The Location is fairly easy although one can get lost for a moment. However, Mr Bansi would give best advice and recommendation on three wheeler vehicle, they can get for you. Please do contact him when you book. The whole stay as well the staff were always helpful. Rikhsa (tuk-tuk) are allowed almost near the place, and The staff are very helpful. It is very quiet once you are in the hotel, the room ambiance, cleanliness and heritage style rooms are beautiful, and just outside the room, there is a large dinning table which is communal and used by all the guests for breakfast/lunch or dinner. Outside on the main road, round the corner, you will find a fresh fruit and vegetable juices of all kinds including mock-tail style mixtures. It is not expensive at all and will keep your energy level high. Nope, not paid to say more on the juice bar, just try yourself.

This is certainly one of the most charming hotels I have ever stayed in. It truly fulfills the fantasy of a 19th century provincial haveli. The staff was attentive (they even helped me do laundry), the room was pleasingly decorated, and the breakfast was filling. I would recommend anyone who is visiting Ahmedabad stay here.

The place claims to accept debit/credit cards but the machine was broken. I had to run out and use an ATM which was quite inconvenient.

Wonderful location in the old town of Ahmedabad - quiet and nice accommodation. Very friendly and polite stuff - especially the one who did all the cleaning, preparing the breakfast, preparing the rooms - unfortunately we saw him sleeping on the desk of the kitchen desk in the night- very sad to see.

At the end when we paid the bill, we have to pay 2.000 Rs for tea not knowing that we have to pay for every extra cup of tea. Nobody communicate it in advance but that would be better.

The hotel is situated in the heart of a local neighborhood that embraces you into their community. The hotel is a very lovely Haveli with original features and quirky stairwells and door ways. The staff could not be more helpful and cooked really nice breakfast and dinner.

A small fridge in the room and some soft seating on the balcony would have been great. The room was not worth the cost but the whole hotel experience was worth doing.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area away from traffic so it is much nicer for wandering around than other cities we stayed in. Breakfast is at a communal table which is great for swapping top tips and arranging joint excursions with other travellers.

The manager's English is OK but not great, you might need to resort to Google translate! Steps are very steep to upstairs bedrooms.

The Haveli was well furnished and quaint. The bathroom was good with lots of hot water , the air-conditioning worked well. The breakfast was good and freshly prepared. The manager was away but we were well looked after. It is in the old city and close to everything..

French Haveli, is my first time in Ahmedabad. I have stayed in many different locations in Ahmedabad. This place, by far, exceeds my expectation. The atmosphere and ambiance are exceptional. It so peaceful and tranquil inside. The surrounding is very family oriented. Brilliant home made breakfast and a dinning table just for you, felt like I was in my home. But the best feature of the whole experience was the local host/manager Bansi. He is a 7 star person. Always smiling, very courteous and professional at the same time. He and his colleagues were very helpful, non-intrusive but ready to help whenever needed, and have a wonderful personality. He is class 1, surpassing even multi-star hotel staff. The Place...French Haveli is beautiful. Some local Rickshaw/TukTuk drivers may not know the exact location of DHAL NI POLE, and therefore, the address should have an added line, Opp ASTODIA CHAKLA, which is known well for the drivers. I would like to thank all the members. PS, just at the entrance of the main street Dhal Ni Pole, there is a nice FRESH JUICE vendor, and its delicious and extremely reasonable. Fresh start with fresh juices (lots of choices and combination) make it the best healthy start of the day. I actually had juices for morning, afternoon and evening time, and felt very refreshed.
